Next up: the ripped convertible top? Or doors with lots of shopping cart kisses on them? I think it should be the scuffed bumper and curbed wheels. Tight.

As a VAG[Volkswagen Auto Group] driver, I think this is a pretty sick styling technique, all though, I do think on the new models (like the black and white Mk4s above) just look ugly. You can tell that its intentional, but the rest of the style of the car doesnt fit that rusted motife. Now, the blue Mk5 on the other hand, that looks fucking sick. haha. But yeah, I dig the look, but the rest of the car should follow suit, in my opinion.

I'm all for the concept of doing your car how you want it and i'm not gonna go tell somebody that's doing this that it's stupid because it's their choice, but none-the-less, In my personal opinion i think this is one of the oddest trends yet, i love vws and apparently it's their crowd that started this thing? The only one of these cars that i think looks good is the MKII Jetta 2-door second from the bottom. That's still sexy ;)

Really unfortunate that someone would intentionally remove really nice looking paint in an effort to make it look like crap. That pearl white VW is a perfect example.. it looks like it had a gorgeous paint job on it.. not any more. The whole point of 'rat rods' is that they were cobbled together with old stuff that was laying around, with more emphasis placed on function than form.. they didn't TRY to make them look like crap.. that's just how they came out. These guys who are putting effort into making their cars look like crap are obviously an egg or two short of a dozen.

These aren't rat-rods. They're mice-rice.
