The Meanest Sounding IS-F in America

By Steve Neill

Steve Neill

A long time ago, I used to think that a fully tuned RB26DETT or 2JZ-GTE made the best sound. Apparently I was wrong, as Fox Marketing and Artisan Performance have gone out and made what is likely the most heavenly sounding car I’ve ever heard. This puts Ferrari’s to shame no doubt (at least in my opinion), and makes me want an IS-F. CarDomain also got some exhaust clips in this interview with Brian Fox. Now where did I put those investment options…

Drifting Game is Addictive!

By Craig McAlpine

imotormag

We have made a few games at iMotor before, but I must admit this one is the most addictive! Using your arrow keys to balance the drift, see if you can set the record for the most laps. You can choose classic drift cars like the Nissan 200sx, but you can also try it out in a Routemaster bus! To get your name on the leader board click here!

Corvette Grand Sport

By Ron Honig

WaytooFurious

This is another interesting car that I spotted at the Kustom Nationals, although the photo is actually from an earlier car show as I had problems with my camera on the day. Does it seem familiar? If you are a Corvette fan you probably would have recognised it instantly as a Corvette Grand Sport. I was told that it is a fully licensed reproduction and not just a knock off copy. The main difference with this and its predecessors is that it has modern Corvette running gear. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the owner so I don’t have any specifics on the power train or the car, but apparently it does get up and go when needed.

V8 Vantage vs. R8: Which Would You Choose?

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Let’s say you have $120,000 burning a hole in your pocket, and you want a classy sports car. Two options that come to mind are the V8 Vantage and the R8. The Aston Martin has the motor up front while the Audi is mid-engined, but both cars have V8s that put out 420 hp, and they both weigh in right around 3,600 pounds. So, which would you choose?

Holy Crap Obama…

By Weston Henderson

I don’t know what else to say… I really feel bad for anyone who messes with President Obama’s limousine.  There’s a friggin 50cal in the Yukon that follows him! 4,000 rounds per minute, and they’re laced with cyanide … ok probably not laced with cyanide … but still awesome.

So, Where Did You Learn How To Drive On Ice?

By Matt Wellumson

Neuwerks

It is a question I receive quite often, in person, in discussion  forums, and in YouTube video comments. For many of us living in the northern states, it’s something we learn early in our driving careers. For others, though, it can literally be a crash course.  If you do live in a northern state, I would look into ice driving clinics such as events held by your local chapter of Audi Club, or similar groups.

At events like this, one can literally learn life-saving skills to keep you and your family out of the ditches! It is great fun to flog your family sedan or wagon around the icy plowed road course, or take a slalom at the quickest speed you can. The best thing is, the cost is usually reasonable, and most don’t require club membership or Audi ownership.

One thing worth noting though, you will need to check on vehicle restrictions with the event promoters. Some will not allow trucks or SUVs due to their higher risk of rollover (that’s if the driver really gets into trouble!).

You Can’t Stop Progress: Mourning Sandy Hill Auto Wrecking

By Dan Strohl

Hemmings

Stop me if you’ve heard this one: Junkyard exists peacefully out in rural America. White flight creates suburbia, complete with nosy neighbors who don’t want the junkyard in their backyards. New zoning laws to appease the suburbanites leads to junkyard crushing its inventory and going out of business. More suburban homes fill the void left. Continue reading at Hemmings

The Real Reason Fiat Bought a Stake in Chrysler?

By Rob Einaudi

Last year Motor Trend took an SRT8 Challenger on a 3,000 mile road trip across Europe, and they stopped at pretty much every major landmark. They cruised through Turin, where got this great shot of the Challenger in Fiat’s Lingotto Building. So I’m guessing that when the guys at Fiat saw and heard the mighty Hemi-powered Mopar, they started thinking…
