Sweet Turbocharged Caprice For Sale
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We’re a bit put off by the $10,000 price tag, but man, we’re loving the hell out of this car. Talk about a sleeper: it’s a stock looking ’82 Chevy Caprice coupe with a swapped-in LT1 and a single turbo. The dude selling it claims that the car goes 12.20s @ 107 mph on only 7 pounds of boost. He made those runs at E-Town and has the timeslips to prove it.
We’ve always had the thought in our head that these cars could be wicked with the right motor combo under the hood and this one seems to have it. With the right amount of sweet talking and the requisite amount of information withholding, including welding up the hood so no one could peek in, you’d have yourself a money maker.
Once we blew up the LT1, we’d swap in a 468 and hang a pair of turbos on it and set our minds to running some real ETs, but until then this thing would be a comfy commuter, it would knock down decent mileage, and it would embarrass large percentages of the stuff at grudge night. Hit the link and try to wheedle this guy down!
Rice Boyz Find a Home at Streetfire
By Rob Einaudi

In November the backers of RiceBoyTV and CarJunkieTV pulled the plug on those sites, which sucked, cause they were both doing some great stuff. David Freiburger (former Ed-in-Chief of Hot Rod and Car Craft) wasted no time in setting up a new site, Freiburger’s Junkyard, and he’s been super cool about sharing his blogs over here. Well now John Naderi (former Editor-in-Chief of Super Street) and his crew have landed a gig over at Streetfire. I’m sure they’re planning some hilarious stuff, so stay tuned…
Mazda at Tokyo Auto Salon
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
I hope you didn’t think I forgot about Mazda during my Tokyo Auto Salon coverage. Since we’re featuring Mazdas this month, I paid extra close attention to them when I was at the show. The usual suspects like RE Amemiya, AutoExe, and Pan Speed all had a presence at TAS, and Mazda itself also had large booth full of their latest models. Whether it was the always-popular FD3S RX7 and RX8 or Mazda’s piston-powered offerings, there was a lot to see this year for the Mazda enthusiast. Continue reading at Speedhunters

The Real JDM
My friend Charlie was kind enough to offer me another concept photoshop creation of his. Once again I find myself fascinated by his work and his original designs. I hope you enjoy it as well. Charlie calls it the Amuse Millennium widebody concept.
Burnout, on a Burnout, on a Burnout!

Oh yes it’s a triple whopper. Check out this video of a guy doing a burnout on his bike in the back of an El Camino that is also doing a burnout on the back of a truck, which is yes, you guessed it… doing a burnout.

Cool Coworker
Atomicalex
I got to work on Monday, and this was on my desk. My co-worker found it in his toolbox—it’s one of those special tools it seems you always need half-way into a job. It’s used to tighten the fan pulley on an air-cooled VW engine, and it’s left over from the guy’s Squareback days. I’d love to see the rest of his toolbox—he’s owned quite a few interesting cars over the years.

2009 Acura TL: Banker's Delight
By Ryan Douthit
Drivingsports.com
You may have noticed the country is in a bit of recession. If you still have a job, you’re wondering for how long. If you already lost your job, well, sucks to be you. Either way, you’re probably not shopping for a luxury sedan. Because of that, I will assume only bankers will keep reading this review.
Thanks to the Fed’s recent bailout of Wall Street, and since no one seems to be able to track where, exactly, all that money is being spent, I will therefore suggest to our banker friends it’s an ideal time to consider a new executive sedan.
There is a possible problem with this, however. If you roll up to the office in a Bentley, the New York Times would certainly run your photo and pluck you out as the fall guy for the misappropriation of bailout funds. Your banker buddies would be more than happy to supply the press with made up tales of your faux financial philandering, to divert attention from their own recent purchases: like that island in Cuba Brokerage Bob just bought.
Therefore propriety demands you buy something sensible. Problem is, you want something sporty. That is a pickle… or is it?

Is Shiny, Is Good
By Ron Honig

Check out this picture of a gorgeous trio of Fords that my friend David sent me. The interesting thing is that the reason they are so shiny is not because of their paint, they actually don’t have paint. It’s because they are made from stainless steel. It all began in 1936 when the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Company got together with Ford. They produced a Deluxe Sedan made from stainless steel as a marketing tool for the new metal. It was a success and Ford and Allegheny went on to produce other models such as a 1960 T Bird and a 1967 Lincoln Continental. In total 11 stainless steel cars were built. Get the full story here. Thanks for the tip David.
