Double Enders
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
It’s always fun to point and laugh at promotional vehicles like these that join two front halves of a car, back to back. After all, that’s the point of them, to attract attention. But how often does somebody ask, “Why?” and expect an answer? To that end, then, Ray Scroggins collected a bunch of photos of the breed and answered the question for his article in SIA #38, January-February 1977. Continue reading at Hemmings
Twin-Engine Drag Cars
David Freiburger
Our Monday Time Killer posts have often directed you to web sites with tons of photos to look at, and this one follows suit: It’s a site that claims to have 475-plus images of twin-engine drag cars, mostly from the past but some in the present. It’s called Two To Go.
The site is cool not just for the retro imagery, but because it’s also a registery or log of all the multi-engine cars ever built. As of this writing the place has come up with 193 of them, but is always seeking more info an more photos. What can you share?
The Skylines of Tokyo Auto Salon
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Nissan had a lot going for them at Tokyo Auto Salon this year with all the hype surrounding the Fairlady Z34 and the continued interest in the R35 GT-R. The Skyline has taken a backseat to those new models in attention, but there were still some nice examples carrying the torch for fans of the “original” Skyline GT-R’s ,as well as the rear-drive Skyline models.
I wont be including the R35′s in this post because as you know, the new GT-R has become a totally separate model from the Skyline. Continue reading at Speedhunters

What Did You Do This Weekend?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
We finally had some sun here this weekend so I got the Satellite out for the first time in over a month. I took it up to the Northgate Mall to return all the Christmas gifts that my daughter broke and ran into a Mustang meet in the parking lot. Turns out it was a bunch of guys from StangNation, who had ended up in Northgate after taking part in a larger Northwest forums meet at Alki. Justin from StangNation sent me a link to the pics their guys took of the meet. Weston and Ryan were out in Alki, so we’ll post a ton of their pics later today.
What did you do this weekend?

Class III Hitch Install

I don’t know how long these photos have been bouncing around, but if you haven’t seen them, they are pretty hilarious. Two closeups of the hitch install after the jump. That’s some impressive woodwork. Thanks Steve!

The Mid Night Club
By Steve Neill
Steve Neill
Most people who play video games have played “Midnight Club,” where you race around the city at night, collecting cars, cash, and parts to make your collection different from everybody else’s. That game originated from the real Mid Night (note the space in between the words) Club, in which members of Japan’s finest tuners would drive at full throttle down the Bayshore Route (Wangan) highway deep into the wee hours of the morning.
As much fun as Midnight Club the game is, it is not even remotely similar to the real events which happened between early 1988 and mid 1999…

I Love Variety at Car Shows
By Ron Honig
WaytooFurious
One of the things that I really like about the Kustom Nationals is the variety of cars. I have never been a fan of shows where they line up the same types of cars in rows. These pictures will give you an idea of what I am talking about. More pics after the jump!

The Lost Car Registry
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Just about every car nut I know has a story about a car that got away. A car that was sold under financial duress or in a moment of stupidity. For me it was a 383-powered ’70 Fury III convertible which I sold when I was broke in the mid-90s. Every wonder where your old car is now, and if you could get it back? Well, the Lost Car Registry is here to help.
The car of the month this month is Keith’s dad’s old 1969 Ford Mustang Mach I. The original invoice is pictured below. Ten years after buying it heavily optioned, with a four-speed and 428 Cobra Jet, Keith’s dad sold it for less than $1,000. Where is it now? If you know, get in touch with Keith and help him out.
