Interview with Ed Peper of Chevrolet
Atomicalex
Rob and I had a sit-down with Ed Peper, General Manager of the Chevrolet division of GM. Of course I had to ask about the Volt sheet metal again. Ed says we can expect one more revision to it that will bring the edges of the hood down onto the fenders. The rest of the panels are very close to the production version, so don’t expect any big changes. FYI – apparently there are over 20 Volt drivetrain mules running around Michigan and Arizona to cover both cold and hot weather conditions. More details after the jump.

The Chevy Beat concept got such a great response that it’s going to production as the Spark. Check out more pics after the jump!

Ford Designer Night Party at the Bankle Building
By Rob Einaudi

Thanks to my buddy Dale, Kathy and I scored an invite to the famous Ford Designer Night party held at Camilo Pardo’s studio on Woodward. All the cool kids were there. We even ran into our new best buddy J Mays again! Camilo owns my favorite Ferrari—a 512 BB. See some of the other cars he parks in the studio after the jump.

Chrysler 200C EV Concept at NAIAS
By Rob Einaudi

Here’s another car that was absolutely mobbed at the show. Not sure if Chrysler will build it, especially as an EV, but it would be a great Sebring replacement. The interior is stunning. More pics and the full press release after the jump.

Fisker Karma S Convertible at NAIAS
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Fisker pulled the wraps off this beautiful hybrid convertible yesterday in Detroit. No pricing info was given, but it was shown alongside the Karma S four door sedan, which goes for $87,900 (or $80,400 after US government tax credits). This was the first time I could get photos without it being completely mobbed. More pics and the press release after the jump!

Hyundai has this screaming yellow Genesis Coupe in the middle of their booth. Looks pretty hot. I have a ton of pics after the jump.

BMW Z4 at NAIAS
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
BMW unveiled their new Z4 at NAIAS, which comes with a retractable hardtop. No word on whether they will do another coupe. I like it a bit better than the previous generation, but it still doesn’t really do it for me. Let me know what you think. More pics after the jump!

TRD NASCAR Motor with Extra Edelbrock
Atomicalex
I was checking out the Toyota booth and spotted one of their NASCAR bodies off in the corner. I started walking over to it and got sidetracked by the Edelbrock intake runners on the TRD engine display next to it. That wasn’t the only traditional American V8 tuner part on it, though. Crane cams, a Holley carb, and a Wilson Manifolds carb spacer. I know a lot of stuff is spec’d in by NASCAR, but you’d think the brains at TRD could figure out how to cast hi-po intake runners or at least a carb spacer! Closeups of the motor and car after the jump.

Scion at NAIAS
By Rob Einaudi

Of course we already saw the blue Tuner Challenge tC at SEMA, but I figured you guys would want to see the Scion booth anyway, since they always have such cool displays. More pics after the jump!
