"Works" Style SA22C RX7
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
One thing you might notice about Japan is the “team spirit” of its car enthusiasts. Whether its drift teams, VIP clubs, or even ita-sha groups, there are organizations dedicated to every type of car and model out there. Sometimes the clubs will be a broad group of friends that simply enjoy driving and hanging out, and other times they will be dedicated specifically to one type of car. If you are an RX7 fan, or fan of classic Japanese cars in general, you might have stumbled across the group known as “22C Works”. As the name suggests, 22C works is a club for owners of the first generation SA22C Mazda RX7 from around Japan. There are lots of cool 22C’s in the group, but we found one in particular we had to showcase this month. Continue reading at Speedhunters

'65 Pontiac Wagon Trip a Success
David Freiburger
Nine days ago we told you that I’d be making a trip north to Sacramento to pick up a ’65 Pontiac wagon that our friend Todd at MSD had scored sight-unseen on eBay. I came home from the trip last night at midnight. As it turns out, the car is a Tempest and not a LeMans as previously presumed, but who cares? It’s a creampuff, the sort of totally rust-free California car that you Rust-Belters envy. Continue reading at Freiburger’s Junkyard
Introducing Sound Classics' Newest Project: The Infamous Craigslist Ferrari 308 GT4
By Sam Barer
Sound Classics
Much of the collector car hobby hinges on the old adage “do as I say, not as I do.” For ages self-proclaimed experts like me have been educating car newbies on the importance of buying the best-condition classics they can afford, all while secretly hauling home projects that could scare the best restorers with the most up-to-date tetanus vaccinations.
I’ve really gone and done it this time, though, by buying one of the most talked-about cars on Craigslist and turning it into the latest Sound Classics project. To describe it, I need to use two words that should never appear in the same sentence: “Ferrari” and “TLC”.

I think I’m going with Porsche. Easy navigation that gets you right to the specifications and photos of the model you’re looking for without a lot of hassle or gimmicks. So what’s your favorite? And while you’re at it, what’s your least favorite?
Harley Iron 883: Should I Get One?
Weston Henderson
I’ve always enjoyed motorcycles and this year I’m thinking about moving to the cruiser market. What do you guys think about the new Harley Iron 883? It’s basically a slightly less expensive, smaller displacement version of the Nightster 1200. I’d probably throw some mini ape hangers, whitewalls and wrap the exhaust. So… should I get one? Or will I run the risk of looking like Justin Bobby from the Hills , because we all know he’s so cool.

Anyone Else Still Listen to Tapes?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Ok, I admit I don’t even have an iPod. Our Subaru has a CD changer but the old Volvo and the Mopar have tape decks (and the one in the Mopar eats tapes). Thing is, I haven’t really had a workable tape deck in my house for years, so all my tapes are from the 80s and early 90s. But that’s pretty much what I listen to in the car, cause most of the time the radio sucks.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano vs. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
It’s a Ferrari-Lambo rematch! Back in December 2007 we pitted an F430 against the Gallardo and the F430 crushed the Lambo. So this is Lamborghini’s chance to get even. The front engine RWD 599 has a 6.0 liter V12 that puts out 620 hp. The mid-engine AWD Murcielago has a 6.5 liter V12 that puts out 640 hp. The Ferrari weighs in at 3,482 pounds while the Lambo weighs 3,670 pounds. The Lambo costs a tad more, but once you get over $300,000, who’s counting? Both cars are fast as hell and look hot. So, which would you choose?
Ouch: Sold For An In-Ground Pool
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Mike’s ’79 Trans Am ride page is pretty straightforward. Just a few photos, the last of which depicts a small backyard pool that he financed with the proceeds from the sale of this gorgeous car. Wha…? Yeah, I’m not one to tell anybody how to spend their money–lord knows I’ve bought a lot of dumb, frivolous stuff–and if what he really wants is an in-ground pool, more power to him. But I can’t suppress the nagging feeling that, a ways down the road, Mike’s going to end up missing that hot ride (with the Year One 8.8 L??) more than he’s enjoying that hole in the ground. I know the situation isn’t exactly comparable, but I’m reminded of someone I know who once sold a ’75 Firebird in part to pay off someone else’s medical bills. He has rued the day ever since, and still keeps pictures of the car around to pine over. How about you? Ever sold a car to pay for something, then regretted it?
