Corvette Stingray Concept

By Katherine Helmetag

Atomicalex

I think that this is special enough to warrant its own blog. As part of the whole Transformers 2 thing, the Corvette guys got to play, too. The new Stingray concept it pretty hot. I like the back end better than the front, mostly because I like the tail. I love the new Stingray badge – totally dangerous! A bunch of pics after the jump.

Kind of on the fence about this one… Don’t like the 4 pipes coming out the back, but the front looks pretty good and I like the profile.

Those pipes are WICKED.. And btw is this losely based on the Cadillac CIEN concept from a few years back?

I like where they are going with the style but they are not there yet, this design needs to be polish a little bit more. Those tailpipes look awful

They need to stop trying to make the Stingray come back. Chevy is doomed and that’s that!

That is flat out gorgeous. Give me one in yellow.

The grille should be less dominating and the exhaust shouldn’t be the focus of the rear end. Other than that, I love this design. It’s about time the Corvette sees a face lift.

Fix those dumbass tailights and rear end, and lose the Camaro grille please. Other than that, I guess it would work.

THAT’S a Corvette? That is pretty outlandish. But then Corvette engineers did say they made it really hard to top themselves with the C6… I don’t dislike it, but its a pretty radical design for a Corvette

tha back looks alright, dont like the exhaust but the front man that looks like a caddy front. doesnt suit the car

Looks sort of… interesting from the front, but I can’t say anything positive about that rear end. Except that those exhaust tips would make good newspaper holders for a letterbox.

It looks a bit too out there for today’s design but if they follow the same path as the Camaro and actually put it into production about 3-4 years from now it might be the best design ever.

I’m sure it would have to be toned down alot for production, but the engineers clearly knew what they were gunning for. The split window is a loved trademark that made the first Stingray and the way the fenders bulge over the wheels is a clear throwback as well. The rest is all modern engineering, but I think to incorporate some of it into the current Vette would enrich the toolbox of trademark design cues. You have to throw some new stuff in every now and then to give the car a fresh look. All in all, it’s ok, I guess.

I went to cardomain blog and saw this car and i…jizzed in my pants.

But seriously, i agree it doesn’t say corvette so much, but it screams “i will seriously f*** your ass up.” That’s enough for me.

i wanna see the front….but the rear and side looks awsome

I like it a lot. Too bad it’ll be neutered for manufacture…

I like the split window and the exagerated curved quarter panels, but the rest of the back end is quite ostentatious. The tail light “compartments” with the meshed grills don’t really scream “CORVETTE,” more like it’s trying to be an exotic. front end doesn’t seem to fit either. Also seems like it’s using ’10 Camaro side mirrors! Was that to save $$$?!!!

Alex

Even though you like it, if they ever did grow a wild hair and actually started mass producing this car, Corvette sales would seriously drop off. The rear styling just doesn’t say “Corvette”, unless you think about the split rear window.

NO. FAIL.
