Do You Like Rock Band This Much?
Neuwerks
For you diehard Rock Band players out there, Chevrolet has your ultimate setup in the form of a totally tricked-out Silverado. This mobile Rock Band entertainment system features lifted suspension, four doors, a trusty 4WD system, and enough subwoofers to crack the moon. All of these features combined together will let anyone get their game on almost anywhere!Â
Besides the amazing integration of the video game setup, there were some other interesting details such as the guitar neck shaped external mirrors, and copious use of police-style lighting throughout the entire truck. This interesting contribution to the show was a working proof of concept showing that you can truly take your Rock Band setup almost anyplace you like!

I’ve just read some of the stupidest comments of my life here. Why is everyone talking about “real bands” and “real music?” Rock Band is a game. Just like Grand Theft Auto is. I suppose that game is also stupid because you’re not really shooting police officers or stealing cars. I guess the same goes for Call of Duty. Why be a fake soldier when being a real soldier is so much better. In fact, why play a video game ever. Idiots. Let me tell you why I play Rock Band. It’s not my idea of fun to practice the real thing tirelessly so I can work my way up to play a smokey gig somewhere, playing crap songs with a crap band. I want to be at home where I can enjoy one of over 500 songs available to me. How can people tell me what I should enjoy and what my idea of fun is. For some people, it’s smokey gigs. For me, leave me at home with my fake drums and guitars. That’s all I need.

Hey, something for everyone right…not my thing but then I am at a different stage in life than someone who is in their early twenties for eg.
But as long as it makes some sence to the majority,,,unlike rusty hoods which I believe was the general concenous than it makes the custom cars/trucks/hot rods and tunners cool. It’s about art and imagination……

I just liked the setup, it was eye catching, and had lots of nice details put into it. I think this truck would do well at local shows. As an outdoor Motocross rider, I would love to see a few of these trucks pull up to the night party events to keep everyone entertained!
Great comments!

LOL you all are too serious, this is a cool idea and its not built for a real rock band. It is built for that local meet that gets a few hundred cars every couple weeks. These sort of things get crowds to come around and enjoy the time rather than just talk and boast about how fast your car is. take it for what it is, an entertainment system. Plus the RB2 Drum Set can be plugged into an amp and be played as a real electric drum set. If you want you can easily get somebody to wire a real guitar to the sound system and bam you have a dual purpose entertainment system. Yes its expensive but hell I’ld love to have that in my IS300 for the car shows.

Fair enough Rob! I see what you’re getting at, but I also think you’re taking this from a much too serious point of view. Think about it this way – amps have volume knobs and so do guitars, electronic drum sets also have volume knobs, there’s really nothing wrong with jaming at a reasonable volume (no problems from the cops). The TV has volume controls as well (you can get the cops called on you if someone complains if the Rock Band volume is too loud). You don’t have to have a crazy rig or all this professional equipment to make music and feel the charge you get when you jam together. But, either way, Rock Band or a real band you still all have to get together. You really can’t create that with Rock Band the game.

Josh, you need to think about something. Sure $500 for a guitar and amp with distortion, but what if you want a better guitar? What if you want a louder amp? What if you want an effect pedal? And consider strings? $500 now, but then $300 for a better amp, at least $600 for a nicer guitar, $120 for an fx pedal, $20 for a new set of broken strings. Not everyone has the time, patience, or money to play a real instrument. Also, playing Rock Band can involve 4 players without involving the police knocking on your door tellinig you to turn your music down. Video Game Rock Band = $1000 for the game with all instruments, XBOX 360, TV, and home theater system. A Real Rock Band = $7000 for a lead guitar, bass guitar, drum set, microphones, eqializer, amplifiers, processors, speakers, cables, and your effects pedal. I’d rather play Rock Band in the back of this nice ass Chevy with friends than play my Stratocaster by myelf.

I’ll also add, you only need to buy a guitar & amp once $500 total, Hell, effect pedals are cheaper than the actual game/accessories/setup! I’ll go again on saying that Rock Bank is fun, but people who like to play Rock Band and think they don’t need/want to play a real instrument, obviously have never picked up an instrument before. There’s a certain tingle of the spine and a feeling of “Hey, I don’t know how to play this…But it just feels BAD ASS!”

nes…then if it’s so much fun to pretend, imagine the fun of really doing it! Think about it, basically you beat the game, you don’t want to really play it anymore. You throw more money away on updating gaming systems, new game releases and accessories than you do just going out, buying a guitar and an amp and jaming out for REAL!!!

Rock Band is fun…But not anywhere neer as fun as ACTUALLY PLAYING REAL GUITARS OR DRUMS!!!! The system looks pretty killer, but figure out a way to plug in a REAL GUITAR and play it through the speakers! Learn to actually play the songs you like instead of learning the timing from a game…That’s just my suggestion. A game doesn’t allow you to really do what you want.
