Ford Transit Connect
Atomicalex
Who the hell needs a truck any more when you can get this thing? 1600 pounds load capacity. 24mpg highway. 135 cubic feet of cargo space. 6 feet of load floor. 4.7 feet of load height. Drives like a car. 19.5 foot turning radius (take that, Accord!) Quirky-cool looks. Optional electric drive. $21,475 sticker.
Five lucky winners of Ford’s Connect with Connect contest won fully-kitted-out Transit Connect vans from Ford, showing the flexibility of the platform. This kayak dude didn’t know what to say when he saw his—he just stood there and stared in disbelief. Another winner was so happy, she burst into tears!

Love this vehicle. We are thinking about getting a Transit for our business. We manufacture and distribute curly hair products, and need a versatile vehicle for deliveries or short trips with a few employees piled in the car. It comes down to a decision between the Transit Connect, a bigger 150 van or a crossover SUV. But this Transit looks so nimble!

I like how the fat redneck is standing closest to the vehicle he clashes with the most.

Yeah, it’s been here for years, so I don’t why they’re hyping it up so much.
As for the VW Kori’s talking about: it’s called the VW Caddy (though I’d imagine they’d change the name if they were to send it to the US).

its surprising that it’s taken SO long for the U.S. to finally bring vehicles such as this in. The UK has been using them for years, and are wildly popular as delivery vehicles. Theyre very handy, and amazingly spacious and comfortable inside. There are VW models such as this that were in consumer reviews….my guess is they didn’t pass the reviews. but they were quite something.

I can see it catching on really well, with the very kind of traders who won the five free ones. The small one-van business owner, who at present has to buy either a van that’s too big or a pickup, or has to knock the back seat out of a sedan.
The electric version will suit any one who runs a localised delivery service where the distance limitations of battery power are not an issue. The company who are doing the EV conversion for Ford, Smith Electric Vehicles, have been building EVs for over 85 years, in which time they’ve quietly shipped tens of thousands of them worldwide. They are about to start building their bigger Newton electric trucks on US soil this summer. Check out the Case Studies page on their website http://www.smithelectricvehicles.com
