Spyker the Unknown Euro at Chicago
Neuwerks
Not many people think of the Netherlands when they hear the phrase exotic car, however, that small corner of Europe does have one exceptional vehicle whose US identity can be as shrouded as the vehicle pictured below. I have never seen one of these cars in person. My only experiences has been from web pictures, and in simulation mode on Grand Turismo on my PS2. Thankfully they have brought a couple examples of this car to the show, and I aim to spend some time looking them over. For those unaware, this car was the first widely available (in Europe) production car to feature a Mid Engined Audi 4.2L V8 engine, predating Audi’s own R8.

Spykers are beautiful cars. Also, the R8 is nothing to brag about when it comes to appearance.

Hey, if you have the money to buy one of these then you probably have enough to get all the damn chrome painted any way you want.

Spyker C8 Laviolette is my 2nd best favorite car.
Koenigsegg CCX is first
But check out the Spyker D12 or C12 Zagato sometime.

In my opinion, Spykers are the coolest looking cars on the road. They ooze style from every square inch and are rather performance noteworthy. Yeah, I’ll agree with Valek, they can be a little over the top and they are pretty chromed out, but they stand out in a world filled with Ferraris and Lambo’s and that’s a pretty impressive feat, when people will do a double take on a Spyker but not another type of exotic.

i agree with Paul, i’ve seen the Spyker in real life and i think it’s a little over the top, especially with chrome trim is too much.
But since i’m dutch it does make me a little proud seeing a dutch sportscar.
For the last 20 years we just had one car manufacturer: Donkervoort, who builds Lotus 7 (Caterham) based sportscars

it might have the same engine as a r8…but nothing can beat the looks of a r8
