More Pics From The Set of Fast & Furious

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Here are some pics I snapped on the set of the new Fast & Furious movie last spring. The studio has had them under embargo until now, so this is the first time they’ve seen the light of day. There were a ton of extra cars and their owners on site, including CarDomain member madmods and his Solstice. Also present were several stunt versions of the gray-primer Chevelle–including the wheelie car, its back end loaded up with massive metal plates so it’d be able pop up during that launch. Again, the new muscle-intensive focus of the series is emphasized even in the filmmakers’ choice of background cars–check out the Cougar, Camaro, ‘Vette, and Ford GT. A whole heap of hot Fords were loaned out for the shoot by the Saleen family, including Steve Saleen’s daughter Molly, who will be making a cameo in the film driving her fuscia ’07 Mustang. Fast & Furious is scheduled to be in theaters April 3–not that far off at all! Follow the jump to see a ton more photos of the cars that’ll be hitting the big screen in a little over a month. And don’t forget to check out the recently-released official photos as well.

The reason the ford GT says “SALEEN” on it is beacuse steeve saleen was one of the people who designed it. The GT’s were also assembled and painted in Saleen shops.

I think the question is why wouldn’t SALEEN hop-up a Ford GT? I don’t know, I just don’t find it too surprising.

Yay Haddy! Congrats on the spot with the Kia! I’m a little disappointed though, other cars got 2+ shots all you got was 1 1/2….no very fair. It’s probably the lack of all the stickers on your car. Honestly your’s is cleaner than those with those bumper stickers on em. Though def some nice clean rides there. Your’s us up there with em.

Hey guys, my friend is a stuntman, who didn’t work on F&F, but did work on movies like Bourne Ultimatum and Indy 4.
To answer the question about the wheelie trick…yes, they know cars have the power to pull wheelies, but you don’t spend $1000′s or even $10,000′s on something that will get wrecked. That’s why they build stunt vehicles. Even in a non-stunt scene, there’s the chance something can go wrong. I’ve heard stories of non-crash vehicles hitting walls, other cars, etc…I once offered up one of my cars for a TV show, and he told me I’d freak if I saw what they were planning to do to it.
In fact, they probably had 4 or 5 Chevelles.
I know some of you are saying…”d’uh”, but hey, someone asked.

These rides are sweet! I remember seeing that Top Secret Supra in a magazine a few years back. What’s crazy is it’s packing a 3S-GTE Motor out of an MR2! Still making almost 700bhp! Off the chain!

what’s the purpose of the jacked up truck? is there a “monster jam” scene where it trashes all the tuners or something? or do they have a hunting\tobacco chewing\beef jerky scene in texas woods?

dominick the reason why they dont put fairlanes in these movies is because its called the Fast and the Furious not the Slow and the Shitty

So they really didn’t save one Grand National? Damn that really hurts me. I want one and they had to make it that much harder by destroying six of ‘em. Fuckers. Oh well I like most of the cars in this thread anyway

The cars are really sweet, hard 2 choose, just hope to see alot of the engines, parts, assessories etc, and a stronger mechanic feel and racing scenes, just like in the real world.

Im sure they could have found a chevelle to pull the wheels off the ground instead of put all that metal on the back of it i mean come on it makes it sound like muscle cars aint got the power to do it and i beg to differ

I love that modern Boss 302. And it’s great to finally see that F&F is cutting out alot of the “hp adding stickers” seen in earlier films. Another thing I thought was interesting is that the ‘Vette and the Viper are practically wearing the same hood, although the Viper was the first to have it.

I know the owner of that Gold Top Secret Supra. His name is Joe Liu. A really really nice guy. He’s spent alot of man hours working on that car, and his family has been really supportive. I hope it gets a good spot in the movie! It definitely deserves it! :)

That poor Corvette. Heartbreaking.

Certainly are a lot of S2000s in this film.
