Legacy GT Owner Tapes Dealership Porters Driving His Car
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Ok, this is pretty funny. A Legacy GT owner who posts as Scruit over at LegacyGT.com was worried that the dealership kids would joyride his car, so he mounted a DVR in the trunk and taped them with four in-car cameras. The kids driving the car seemed to be aware that they were being taped, so I’m sure they held back a bit. But they really didn’t treat the car THAT badly.
So do you worry about your car when you drop it off? I know my small and independent Subaru and Volvo mechanics way too well to be worried, and anyway, both those cars are too boring to thrash on. And only one other guy besides me touches my Mopar, and he’s more anal than me! Now, I guess if I had a newer Mustang or Challenger I’d be worried… Via Jalopnik

” Im going to have to give it a little clutch, little something special, a little (B&M?) ” now that’s some funny shit. That’s why you work on your own vehicles!

If I was that guy, that ride would have definitely cost those to punks their jobs. Fucking with another man’s automobile is death penalty in my book.

MY CARS NEVER LEAVE MY SIGHT when others are behind the wheel, period. It’s not a matter of trust… because there is no trust.

I remember back in high school, my friend worked at the chevy dealership as a security guard and we got into the shop and found a DPS trooper Camaro and we got the keys and ragged the piss out of that car, then we got back and thought, hmm, maybe it has a camera like the cars on cops, so we ransacked the car until we found a VCR and yanked the tape. Hehehe, good times, good times!

I’d still be pissed! For One: There would be a free tank of gas involved and Two: They would have lost my business. I think it’s BS that they have free range over what they do to someone else’s property. I’d just leave the camera’s up but hide em better, then every time they “Got on it” they would owe me Two gallons of gas. I bet that would put an end to the joyriding.

One of the many reasons I work on my car and don’t take it to the shop!

I worked at a dealership, if only people knew how much they beat the shit out of every car. Even other people’s cars.

Not really, but I know my mechanics really well, plus I do alot of my own work when possible, but if I really wanted to know what was going on at the dealership, many cars nowadays are starting to come with a data recording system in the computer. It’s there to record all the engine and stability control data prior to a crash, but I’m sure you could hook it up to read throttle position and other info anytime.

Ouch. He shifts like he’s 14 and a wannabe Vin Diesel. You can see the car stutter like a diseased lamb everytime he slams on the clutch to upshift.
Poor car.
Wow, if I was the owner of this, I’d be livid.

I’d still kill those little SOB’s if they did that to one of my rides. My Monte has only been to a shop once for the paint and body work. Everything else is done by me.
