Tax Season Is Here, and That Means Car Parts
By David Clarke

With so many of us forced to scale back on spending, it’s lucky that there’s still that one time of year where we have the potential to get a big fat check in the mail. I’m talking about tax season of course! I’m always anxious to use that money on one of my cars, so not only are my taxes done, but I’ve got my refund back already. Perusing my wish list with check in hand, it didn’t take long to settle on black powder coating for my Grand Prix’s factory wheels and an upgrade to slotted brake rotors, also in black powder coat. Total for that is going to run about $630.00, which leaves me with a little refund left over to put towards gas for the summer. How about you? What are you gonna do with the money Uncle Sam was generous enough to give back?

Four Dunlop Star Specs for my xB for the upcoming Autocrossing season. They’re the stickiest tires I’m allowed to run in STS.

I’m putting it into the weekend car fund, because I don’t have anything worth putting my tax return into like you lucky people.

Whatever I’ll get back won’t be nearly enough. Especially when i just spent $317 on a new battery and alternator, then later on in the year I’ll have to get new (bigger)tires, new muffler, and have the rust problem taken care of before it gets anymore outta hand. Still have to get a new stereo system in too. Oh, and also pay for the damage I did to my Dad’s S-15 Blazer. Ahh, the joys of life and owning things! It’ll get better right? Right?
