Hater Fodder: The CorZonda
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
First off, I must give props to Jalopnik for amusing me greatly with their “Doing It Wrong V3″. This picture I took from their gallery, which contains other examples of tragic/comedic greatness.
For my chosen example (due to my love of Pagani and their Zonda), I’ve selected what I dub the CorZonda. Although the owner was creative in achieving what he did with the rear of the car, it is a complete disaster from my eyes. Here’s some food for the haters… I present you with the CorZonda.

Serial Nine Cressida
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Seriously, looking at an MX83 Cressida like this one makes me want to buy a Cressida. I think the test of a car builder is if your car inspires others to want to buy the same car so they can build it up. I don’t know the details of this car, like engine mods or wheel size, etc… but I’ve been thinking about obtaining a manual transmission Cressida for a while now. Man, there are just so many cars I like… way too many. I have problems. However, if I had a bunch of cars that looked like this just sitting around, I think it’s a good problem to have!
Can anybody help us out with some specs on this particular MX83? It looks awesome. The clean body, the paint, the exhaust, the wheels, the stance, the clean fenderwork. Outstanding.

TTAC Wants GM to Kill the Corvette
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I read (ok skimmed) Robert Farago’s editorial and don’t get it. Is he just pissed that the Vette can spank his precious Boxster? Farago says, “the Corvette is a brand anomaly; it’s as much a Chevy as a Cayenne is a Porsche, only less so.” But when I talked to Chevy’s Ed Peper in Detroit, Peper said he thought that the Corvette was the strongest brand that Chevy had, with the possible exception of the Silverado. Chevy has no immediate plans to start working on a C7, but I don’t think they are losing any money on Vette right now, and I honestly don’t think it’s causing them to lose focus. So why kill it? I probably only go over to TTAC once per week out of some weird morbid fascination, but maybe I should just stop reading it altogether…

Are You Ready for Bullrun Season II?
By Rob Einaudi

Bullrun Season II starts tomorrow and we now have ride pages for all the cars. There are definitely some hot rides this year. I love the Dart, the GT500 and of course the Ferrari. But I think the Pantera is my favorite. Which is your favorite? And who do you think is gonna win?

Big Wheels 4 Big Kids!
Weston Henderson
Over the weekend I was surfing Fatlace when I saw a thing of beauty: Big Wheels! Take a look at these monsters! I found myself slipping back into childhood memories of wind whipping through my hair and snot dripping down my face as I took my Big Wheel slideways over a speed bump in January. I’m pretty sure these just took the number one spot on my must have list for ’09.
Lancer GTS

I got to spend some quality time with the Lancer GTS this weekend. Honestly, I knew almost nothing about this car before it showed up at our offices. Of course everyone knows about the EVO, but did you know you can get a car based on the same body and platform for as little as $14K? The GTS adds a bigger motor (a 168 hp 2.4 liter vs. the 152 hp 2.0 liter on the base), 18″ wheels, sports suspension and a wing but still keeps the price tag just south of $18k.
To me the Lancer really hits the sweet spot in size between the Civic and the Accord. And for Civic LX money you get a much sportier car. Ok, so it’s maybe not as refined as a Honda, but who cares?

Mercury Mariner: Luxury Lite
Atomicalex
Raise your hand if you’ve ever taken your spouse car-shopping and heard “I don’t need anything special, but I want something nice.” Oh yeah. So what do you get? After a few days in a Mercury Mariner Premier Edition, I think I know. Ford lent me the Mariner for my Chicago Auto Show trip. Entry-level luxury isn’t the right class for this cute ute based on the Escape platform, it’s more like Luxury Lite. No one will confuse it for a Lincoln on the outside, but it’s got attractive styling cues and trim details that set it apart from the rest of the herd on the inside. More pics and details after the jump.

Asian Invasion
By Steve Neill

Well after what appeared to be an ENDLESS supply of economy cars, and a heavy gulp load of BS from auto manufacturers about how these new super-green concepts would be on the road by 2392, I began to properly explore the Toronto Autoshow. As a Japanese car guy, it wasn’t hard to see every car that stirred my soul. They had everything from the Nissan GT-R, to the Nissan Cube, and Mitsubishi Evolution, new Fairlady Z, old Fairlady Z, Subaru STI’s, and everything else a Japanese car lover would want. For the tuner crowd, these were the heavy hitters. Just because Canada has snow, doesn’t mean we don’t know how to rock it JDM!

More Pics From The Set of Fast & Furious
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Here are some pics I snapped on the set of the new Fast & Furious movie last spring. The studio has had them under embargo until now, so this is the first time they’ve seen the light of day. There were a ton of extra cars and their owners on site, including CarDomain member madmods and his Solstice. Also present were several stunt versions of the gray-primer Chevelle–including the wheelie car, its back end loaded up with massive metal plates so it’d be able pop up during that launch. Again, the new muscle-intensive focus of the series is emphasized even in the filmmakers’ choice of background cars–check out the Cougar, Camaro, ‘Vette, and Ford GT. A whole heap of hot Fords were loaned out for the shoot by the Saleen family, including Steve Saleen’s daughter Molly, who will be making a cameo in the film driving her fuscia ’07 Mustang. Fast & Furious is scheduled to be in theaters April 3–not that far off at all! Follow the jump to see a ton more photos of the cars that’ll be hitting the big screen in a little over a month. And don’t forget to check out the recently-released official photos as well.
