Spyker the Unknown Euro at Chicago

By Matt Wellumson

Neuwerks

Not many people think of the Netherlands when they hear the phrase exotic car, however, that small corner of Europe does have one exceptional vehicle whose US identity can be as shrouded as the vehicle pictured below. I have never seen one of these cars in person. My only experiences has been from web pictures, and in simulation mode on Grand Turismo on my PS2. Thankfully they have brought a couple examples of this car to the show, and I aim to spend some time looking them over. For those unaware, this car was the first widely available (in Europe) production car to feature a Mid Engined Audi 4.2L V8 engine, predating Audi’s own R8.

Corvette Stingray Concept

By Katherine Helmetag

I think that this is special enough to warrant its own blog. As part of the whole Transformers 2 thing, the Corvette guys got to play, too. The new Stingray concept it pretty hot. I like the back end better than the front, mostly because I like the tail. I love the new Stingray badge – totally dangerous! A bunch of pics after the jump.

Ford Taurus SHO

By Katherine Helmetag

Atomicalex

Derrick Kumar couldn’t let it be. He scoped out the enthusiast market and pushed a new Taurus SHO through the product channels at Ford. CarDomain, your voices have been heard. With a high boost EcoBoost V6 driving a 6-speed manumatic with paddle shifters, upgraded suspension was required. It’s ok to be old school if it means the kind of cool that this is. The interior is full of SHO-specific trim details. Matt will have a gallery up as soon as we can get close to this new hottie!

Millionth Vega

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

In May 1973, the millionth Vega rolled off the assembly line, and to commemorate this milestone Chevy offered the bright orange Millionth Vega GT Hatchback (option code ZM5). Robert owns one of the 6,100 built (one per dealer) and his is an un-restored, original paint car with just 5,500 miles on the clock. Check out his ride page for more pics and go to h-body.org for more info on this rare package. Oh, and don’t miss Robert’s ultra rare Vega Panel Express, either!

Here’s Streetfire’s drift video of the week, shot at the All Star Bash V at Willow Springs with a front mounted POV camera on a Nissan 240sx S14. Definitely puts you right in the action.

Toronto Tagging Right Behind Chicago!

By Steve Neill

Steve Neill

While Katherine Helmetag is covering the Chicago Auto Show, I’ll be at the Canadian International Autoshow. If you’re there, I’ll be the lanky red haired guy in the CarDomain t-shirt. Be sure to stop by and tell me a bit about you, your car, or anything in general.

We won’t be posting live from the show like Katherine. Instead we will delay our photos and coverage until after hers out of courtesy, and so that you’re not confused or overloaded. This year CIAS (Canadian International Auto Show) features the theme “Into the Future,” which will showcase economical cars, and what they can do for the environment. As this is an enthusiasts site, we’ll bring that… but expect to see more hot stuff then green stuff.

Wish us luck, and remember, if you see me and my photographer out on the floor, be sure to stop by and say hi!

By Katherine Helmetag

I’ll be up close and personal at the Chicago Auto Show tomorrow with Matt Wellumson. We’ll be checking out the cars and posting up so you can see everything, too. Rumor has it that we’ll be hitting up a Ford factory in the process. Stay tuned for two days of Chicago Auto Show on CarDomain!

By Rob Einaudi

Ok, paint, stance and wheel/tire combo are pretty much nailed here. And apparently this is the first H & R coil over set for the Challenger, including all LX/LC models. More at Jonsibal.com.

Pointless Exercise? 1967 Dodge Viper Concept

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Designer Rafael Reston decided it would be fun to try to imagine what the Dodge Viper would have looked like if it had been introduced back in 1967. Seems a bit pointless to me, but what do you think? Via Jalopnik. Full gallery with wallpaper over at SeriousWheels.
