Cars Should Be Driven
Grassroots Motorsports
After who knows how many months, my Mini has rejoined the living. The culprit: a stuck thermostat. Why did the repair take so long? I guess I have been a little busy.
However, we got the car out for some fresh air and took it on a Saturday drive with our local British car club. Call it both a test drive and chance to see some scenery all at once. For those with projects that just need a few minutes to complete, my advice is to stop putting it off. Cars are much more fun when they can be driven.

Even then, an occasional drive would make sure the car is healthy. Mustang No. 1 needed a complete restoration under hood when Ford was getting ready to show it off for the 40th anniversary bash back in ’04. The car had been in storage since 1966 when Ford was finally able to buy it back from a Canadian airline pilot. It was awesome to see the first production Mustang drive to the show, even though it was in the Ford museum’s back yard.

Amen about the driven thing, unless its a historical piece like JFK’s motorcade convertible or something like that.
