Cadillac VSR

The other day I blogged about this cool computer rendering of a 21st-century hot rod. Yeah well, screw renderings–this one’s real! This car was designed for SEMA by GM Performance Parts and Race Car Replicas, and unlike the last hot rod I drooled over, this one is packing a proper drivetrain. Under that long sleek bonnet lies a 6.0 liter (most likely the LS2) putting out a modest 400hp. In my opinion it doesn’t look as cool as the Delithium, but real beats rendered every time. Check out the rest of the gallery over at Jalopnik.

I like the air scoops for the brakes, and even the grille. Its a cool way to integrate the modern caddy grille into a car that kinda reminds me of a track T.

That is an awesome interpretation of an older ’30s hot rod.

Taht is a sweet looking car. Like brad, I like the scoops for the brakes. With those huge tires for such a little car I wonder how it handles on the track.

those air intakes on the wheel hub are a clever way to keep the brakes cool. but i would rather the back of the wheel be just as open as the front. Also a carbon fiber suspension like the new 2009 F1 cars would be cool too. That’s something you would never see on a classic hot rod.
