L.E.D. Headlights for Passenger Cars

By Bob Balderston

Bob Balderston

For those among us not yet ready to give up the older cars and trucks, Truck-Lite, an aftermarket lighting company which primarily markets to the heavy duty and commercial truck segment, has announced 7″ D.O.T.-certified L.E.D. headlights for the standard 7″ headlight applications. This would allow you to put L.E.D. headlights in a lot of older cars without the H.I.D. light prices, and the light is far closer to real white than most halogens on the market today. They are expected to outlast regular halogen headlights, which have an average lifetime of 1,200 hours, by as much as 50 times. Retail pricing has not been announced yet, but is expected to be pretty reasonable. Check out the Truck-Lite website for more.

Most of the HID systems I’m seeing are upwards to $1,000….these are about $700 a set…I didn’t think that was too bad for the ONLY LED Headlamps available.

That’s badass. I saw a set of led headlights for the F150 but they cost more than buying projectors and HID headlights and foglights together. And they weren’t even that good looking.

These are awesome! I actually saw them at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Ky last week…they were being sold/displayed in the LEDHeadlamps.com booth. I would check out that website. It’s really cool!

Those would be great as the Driving lights for the Mustang.

Those are AWESOME, I’d love a set for my Pacer…though both of the links you gave don’t actually link to the LED lights themselves, and I can’t find anything on the Truck-Lite website. Do you have any other info on them?
