2009 Cobra Jet Mustang on eBay
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
Well that didn’t take long. 2009 Cobra Jet Mustang number 26 is up for sale on eBay for a starting bid of $100,000. The car is being sold by an Ohio exotic car dealer and we’re keenly interested to see where this auction ends up. Hopefully it goes to someone who will actually race it instead of putting it in a hermetically sealed bubble somewhere.
These cars are runners, as John Calvert proved when he won Stock Eliminator at the 2009 NHRA Winternationals. To our knowledge this is the first one of the cars to hit the public auction block, unless you count the prototype sold at Barrett-Jackson.
Hardcore Ford fanatics have to be monitoring this auction with bated breath. We have few doubts that the car will be sold. The only question is how much?

Wow this car is really hooked up for racing. I can see someone spending that much on it. Thats if your into all that racing stuff. But to someone like my self i wouldnt. Cant drive it on the street as an every day car. Maybe take it and race it on Pinks lol

the $100,000 is a lot to put down for a mustang but i’d buy one. and all you people who keep saying “I’ll take a vette instead”, you should be thinking about how rare of a car this cobra jet drag car is.

Nice ride…but…for that price?? I’d buy a slightly used cheaper Vette.

400hp 10sec QMT my TA can make that with only 10k put in it, and I bought it for 7k. I actually like ford racing’s stuff but here, not impressed.

the car is worth $100,000.00 because it has a 3yr 100k miles full warranty, there are supposedly 100 cars and all sold within 8 hours of the cars being released.

Are you kidding me? 100 thousand dollars? I could buy a 5.0 for 3 grand put 30 into it and beat that overpriced pos at half throttle.

I wouldn’t drive a new age mustang if my life depended on it. they should have stoped making the mustang in 1980 because all they did was just ruin the name and look of one of the greatest american classic cars.

I don’t know why but 400hp just doesn’t seem like enough for something like this.

I’d race it if it were mine. I had no idea that Ford even made a 40th anniversary edition last year. Glad to see that they are more than keeping thier promise to build at least one special edition Mustang a year.

I do hope, who ever the lucky buyer is, actually races it. Although think about the worth after some years. I’d race it.
