K&N Typhoon Intake Install
Weston Henderson
Last week K&N shipped me a full Typhoon intake setup. I installed it on my car and have been testing it over the last week. The install was pretty easy and required removing the engine cover (which cannot be re attached without modification) and the stock intake piping. After removing the intake piping you simply install the K&N heat shield and intake piping. I have to admit, I now seem to have a few extra bolts, but nothing has shaken loose over the last week so I figure we’re gonna be just fine. I will say that I miss the way my engine looked, with the clean looking cover on it–but performance always comes first!

CarDomain Member's Ride in Truckin' Magazine
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Rob photographed this incredible bagged Dodge Ram at last year’s SEMA show, but it was only just last week that we noticed it was on CarDomain! The owner, Tony, has been busy since last time we saw this ride–it’s been featured all over the place, and will enjoy a six-page feature spread in the next issue of Truckin’ magazine. Congrats, man!

I love the Guigiaro shape. And the wheel fitment on Elite Auto Style’s Toyota Aristo is hella flush…

I’m really digging Vic’s 944 Turbo. The Lambo orange Simmons F90s are a nice touch.

New Camaro Fails to Impress Jalopnik
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Jalopnik’s Wes Siler just posted his first drive report on the new Camaro. Let’s cut to the chase: how does it compare to the Mustang?
“The 2010 Mustang with a few options is actually a nicer place to spend time. … On initial impressions and despite a spec sheet that strongly claims otherwise, I’d tip the hat in the Mustang’s favor when it comes to driving enjoyment too. … Despite the Mustang’s live rear axle, which never really manifests any limitations on the road, the ‘Stang is lighter on its feet than the Camaro and has considerably more steering feel.”
Ouch… Now, I disagree with that part about the Mustang’s live rear axle not showing any limitations on the road—just try pushing a new Stang through a corner with crummy pavement and you’ll see what I mean. But still, it doesn’t sound like Chevy is gonna trounce Ford right out of the gate with their new pony car. Or Dodge, for that matter.

Nice Photochop!

I thought Nick’s clear-hood HEMI idea was pretty cool, and he’s got some other great gems on his ride page–his avatar, for one, is a Disney Cars version of his “Top Banana” Daytona R/T Charger. Other treats include the dragstrip pics on page 3 and the shifter-mod pics on page 2–nice yellow pool ball! Definitely check him out.

Bullrun Episode 5: Bye Bye Camaro!
Weston Henderson
Mike Musto is out driving a new ZR1 across the country, so Rob gave me the task of reviewing this week’s Bullrun episode. So last night I got my Snuggie and a 40 of OE and sat down to watch the show.
This week the rally went from Santa Fe to Roswell, and the action took some interesting turns. The Camaro couldn’t seem to figure it out this week, stalling the car and falling behind in the race. But in the end, I really didn’t understand why team Avalanche didn’t put team Lexus in the challenge. Instead they put in team Camaro, when the Camaro guys had helped everyone out the most this season. Shouldn’t you put the strongest team in the challenges to get them eliminated? Really gotta say I don’t think team Avalanche made the right call on that one. What do you think?
Goodbye Camaro, you sweet looking car!

The Nissan 370Z Stomps the Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The 370z beat the Solstice GXP Coupe by almost a 3-to-1 margin in this week’s Showroom Showdown. Ouch. And as usual, I got some flack from some several folks here on the match-up. Hey, it’s not easy coming up with a new showdown each week. The vehicles should have the same number of doors and seats and be priced about the same. Think you can do better? Leave a comment!
