Fiesta Beats the Fit on CarDomain

By Rob Einaudi

I was expecting Honda to win this one, but the feisty Fiesta upstaged the Fit for a convincing win in this week’s Showroom Showdown. Think the Fiesta will be hit with the tuner crowd?

Maybe it’s because this Fiesta has a significant look about it. The original (along with it’s replacement, the Aspire) were but ugly and just about the cheapest looking car on the road, save for the Hyundais of the time. This one has style, good taste, and it’s built by an American company, it’s cheaply priced, people are going to like this car when it goes on sale if it hasn’t already. Although I didn’t expect it to beat out a Honda, I expect great things from this car.

I voted for the Fit, but I was a bit torn. I am hoping to be surprised by the Fiesta and the new Focus. I would love to see something amazing from a domestic automaker.

I have only considered buying one new car, and that was the Saturn Astra, only because it was domestic with euro features.

This is from a hardcore VW guy.

If this Fiesta comes out within the estimated price range, expect a new ride page from yours truly.

I think the Fiesta has a fighting chance, I hate little cars, but I could see buying a Fiesta.

Wow, didn’t see that coming! I voted for the Fit and thought it would blow the Fiesta out of the water. I really don’t see any domestic becoming too popular with the tuner community. The Colbalt has it’s following, but anything from the Ford or GM will not reach levels of any of the imports on the scene. I think people looking for performance and style in a Ford for will for the coming new Focus. People on a budget looking for MPG’s will buy the Fiesta.
