britne and eveybody else – its an SS, when he’s heating the tires up you can sorta see the little SS emblem on the driver side of the grille right beside the blinker, also the new camaro only has “camaro” on the fenders, doesn’t say RS or SS no matter what it is, also if you pause the frame about halfway between 30 and 31 seconds, you can sorta see the sun shine on the SS emblem
>>>>>>>>
but honestly, i think the SS can do better than that, he just can’t race, looks like he’s granny shifting and didn’t get a good jump off the line

I was a little disappointed with the run, I don’t know the elevation. But I saw a SS rip off 13s flat on another video. Hell a 4th gen with a LS1 will keep up or beat it due to aerodynamics and weight. But then again that guy was a shitty driver, I bet the auto would be faster if I’m racing that guy.

britne21, it’s obviously the SS because it has a V8. Take a listen. Non-SS models use the V6.

1 eyed bob – well eveytime he changes options it just put him on the bottom of the list, and to be honest, the new camaro is bad ass but honestly i’d rather just get a 1st gen camaro preferably a 69 and just build it up, if you do all the work yourself it will end up costing the same if not less than the cost fo teh new camaro, that is if the body was in good shape, plus its soo much stuff out there for a 1st gen camaro you could do rpetty much anything you wanted to, i’d make mine a monster, make it look stock on the ouside but have a 502 or even the bog dog 572 in it, the new camaro might would be more comfertable to cruise in but you’d get way more looks in a 1st gen camaro than the new one

SouthernGuy8503 – yeah I get what your saying. Still wierd though. My boss ordered his 2 years ago. Im thinking its because he keeps changing the options he wanted on it. (its only the 5th camaro he will own, 67 (2) 68′s a 69 and now a new one)

1 eyed bob – its probably a first come first serve type of thing where sooner you put the camaro on order the sooner you get yours, how fair would it be if you ordered yours last year but someone that just ordered their’s last month got their’s way before you did, get what im saying?

Did I miss something? The car in the video had Camaro Badges only! The badges isn’t the problem. Are we being miss lead with a base model that sporting a 300hp or 425hp GTO motor? I received a video and a survey that talked of more muscle then what this V6 looking car showed. I sure hope GM don’t make another mistake like they did by dropping the Camaro. Low Muscle is makes the Camaro bait for imports & Ford.

John Hennessey is the biggest crook out there in the business. He rips people of their money, and of their pride, and on numerous forums has made idle death threats, and called customers “cock suckers” and such.
It would be in EVERYONE’s best interest never to purchase anything from him.

That guy needs to learn how to race. That was a horrible run. First (and I know that it doesn’t effect 1/4 mile time) the guy has a reaction time that doesn’t even come close to being perfect. Second, a 2.32 60′ time? Wow, that thing must’ve been spinning quite a bit. I was hoping to see a sub 2 second 60′ time. And lastly, 107.99mph is a fast trap speed for a 13.6 second 1/4 mile time. Overall, I think that this Camaro was capable of running a high 12 second 1/4 mile time bone stock. Cool car, I love the new Camaro!

ya it does gotsome good low end power, i timed the 0-60 and it did it at about 4 and a half seconds and thats not bad for bone stock especially since its the first year back after 8 years, the camaros are supposed to arrive at the dealership in my town on May 6th and like i said in the V6 camaro blog my birthday is May 6th so i guess i have a little test drive to do on my birthday, gonna see about testing the SS of course and hopefully they’ll have an SS with the manual

That’s got some GREAT low end power. Chances are they’ll go turbo, or twin turbo, give it better top end power. The car looked like it was having a hard time going in 4th, and yes people I know he made it through at 3rd.

Very nice ride, but was hoping it showed what Hennessey did. More of before and after. This seems more like a commercial for the Camaro…does make me wonder what they’ll do with this SS.
