Teslas Invade Seattle

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

We spotted two Teslas in Seattle yesterday. This red one was parked within a block of CarDomain Headquarters. And I saw a blue one on the way home last night but wasn’t able to get the camera out in time. Good to see these cars doing daily driver duty!

This car is amazing it has one of the fastest “out of the box” QTR mile times there is, and pretty soon we’ll be seeing combustion cars become antiques. personally I love a good sounding V8, but we can’t keep up with the performance of these electrics, (has any one seen the electric Shelby Cobra WOW!! ITS FAST.)

To everyone who says it reminds you of the Elise, it is. It’s based on the Lotus platform.
Also, the Tesla is the car they used for the engine sounds of the bat bike in The Dark Knight. Fun fact.

Saw one in Santa Cruz, CA. Driving S/B on Hwy 1. Cool, because it is really rare, but I’m way over it. Watch Top Gear to see why.

i have mixed opinions about this one.
real cars have 8 cylinders, 3 pedals, and RWD. this is only one for three, but it could kick my ass in a race.
but no, i have not seen any in person yet

I think Jeremy Clarksons opinion was the most honest, and he didn’t think highly of this car

Sure it’s reasonable for it to be confused with a Lotus — it rides off of it’s chassis! Anyone’s feeling like this is the 21st century equivalent of the Shelby Cobra?! An American company taking a British frame and shoving a more powerful motor then what was in it previously and selling it off as their own? I LOVE this Tesla, and kudos for going w/ the name Tesla and not that hack Edison ;D

I saw one in Boston a week or so ago. Wonder how good it is in the snow? I saw him as he was pulling it into his garage, and noticed he also has a Bentley Continental. May be trying to offset that one.

Thats awsome to se them out and about. i live in lansing MI so i got to see a lot of the EV1 when they were at the factory about a block from my house. My dad lives in lapeer MI and he spoted a chrysler 300c wagon CRD(Common Rail Diesel) in the local Meijers parking lot with right hand drive. He had to call me Right a way to see what it was.
