Fiesta Beats the Fit on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi

I was expecting Honda to win this one, but the feisty Fiesta upstaged the Fit for a convincing win in this week’s Showroom Showdown. Think the Fiesta will be hit with the tuner crowd?

What's Next: Active Noise Control
By Rob Einaudi

Lotus and Harman International have decided to collaborate to develop Active Noise Control. Sounds kind of corny until you realize that the noise cancellation technologies can save a lot of weight—no need for a bunch of sound deadening material! Full press release after the jump. Via Autoblog

Big Thanks To the Fatlace/HellaFlush Crew
By Ryan Porter
IN-N-OUT Editor
A few weeks back Rob saw the latest HellaFlush t-shirts and got really excited. This may sound weird being that he is a Mopar guy and usually frowns on all tuner/import/non-domestic related trends, but for some reason he digs the HellaFlush movement. Anyways a big thanks to Kenny down at Fatlace for hooking us up with some tees! Get yours here. Now we just need to hit up San Francisco and attend one of the Fatlace GTGs!

Mythbusters Crew Now Unnecessarily Smashing Eagles
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
Earlier this week, a lot of play was given to the Mythbusters episode that tried to pancake a Fiesta out in the desert, which was rather entertaining, but last night’s episode pissed me off just a little bit: As part of Alaska week, the Mythbusters B-team decided to test some myth that if you hit a plow head on, the plow will split your car right down the middle. (Have you ever heard of that myth? Me neither.)
So to test it, they found some test track that could hurtle a car at highway speeds into a stationary plow. And the car they chose for the test was an AMC Eagle station wagon, from which they removed absolutely none of the parts that Eagle restorers could have, y’know, put to good use. Grille, fenders, headlamp doors, all intact as they smashed the Eagle into the plow. It didn’t split in two. Continue reading at Hemmings

TRA Kyoto Drop Top S15 Silvia
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Take an S15 Silvia convertible, give the car proper stance car, add a dash of 19″ E66 7 series BMW wheels, and sprinkle some Tra Kyoto magic, and poof! You get a flavor of S15 that has not been tasted by many. And so I ask, how does it taste?

If I Had More Parking Spaces…
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
I would totally buy an E30 M3.
I’ve always loved these and they just keep getting better with age. As BMW’s get more and more advanced with technology power and weight, there is something really nice about the rawness of the E30 M3. Although the E92 M3 definitely went the right direction and became a more focused drivers car than the E46, I don’t think we’ll ever see a sub 3,000 pound M3 again.
The E30 happens to be around 2,700 pounds which is equivalent to the S2000, which I also love as one of the purest drivers cars produced. Between the legendary handling of the E30, the lightweight design and the timeless blister fender design from the factory, I think the E30 M3 will always be a classic.

Just Say NO to 55
Atomicalex
The IIHS is back at it again with the 55mph crap. This time, it’s in response to their own report that (no kidding) small cars fare poorly in collisions with larger cars. Those darn laws of physics! Apparently, if we drive slower, we will have less momentum when we crash into each other, and the smaller cars will not be squished as much. That’s great, but what’s the likelihood of getting hit on the highway, anyway? NHTSA data show that far more fatalities occur on roads with speed limits lower than 50mph, so why not focus on improving safety on those roads instead? Politicians will no doubt jump at this opportunity to fund local police precints, but I say: keep your greedy mitts off my 70mph speed limits!

Lexus Ladies Out: Final Four Getting Ready
By Mike Musto
RideLust.com
After a week hiatus Bullrun was back on Speed for another episode. The teams went through four seasons in one day and it seemed to be taking its toll on everyone. The VW started the day in the snow with a dead battery, and honestly, I feel bad for those guys as they always look cold. Team Shelby started coming up in the ranks as Team Lexus went down. Right from the get go Team Lexus seemed as though they had just given up, and who knows, they might have, because all signs pointed to them just wanting to go home.
Now if you’ve been watching you’ll know that Team Corvette and Team Avalanche don’t play well together. Team Corvette has been coming in first and throwing the Avalanche into the challenges. I think they’ve been in four or five so far. Doesn’t seem to matter what gets thrown in front of Bear though, as that Bama’ Boy just runs it on over with that big Chevy. Last night’s challenge proved no different.
