The Return of the Honda Beat?
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
Sometimes you just have to love Japanese car magazines and their never ending stream of concept renderings and “insider” information. The guys over at 7Tune.com have just picked up on a Best Car Magazine story that talks about the return of the Honda Beat, the pint-sized kei sports car that was an icon of the early ’90s Japanese auto industry. Although the new Beat would be front engined and front drive (unlike the original mid-engined Beat), it would be an interesting to alternative to the Daihatsu Copen.
Rumor has it the new Beat could be on sale in 2011, powered by the same 660cc motor from Honda’s other kei offerings. Whether or not the new Beat actually reaches production, I wouldn’t count on seeing it exported to many countries outside of Japan.

Aston Martin 4.7 V8 Vantage Roadster
imotormag
When Vantage owners told Aston Martin that their car needed more ‘oomph’ Aston listened. Say hello to the new 4.7-litre 420hp V8 Vantage. From the outside there was certainly nothing wrong with the V8 Vantage—it’s a stunning-looking car, no matter which angle you look at it. I reckon it looks even better than its big brother, the DB9, too. Check out the full review with tons of pics!

House of Angry

Before I left New York, Mike took me out to Westchester, where he keeps the Daytona. It’s probably no big surprise, but this thing looks even more awesome in person than it does in photos. And I’ve seen plenty of wing cars over the years.
If you’ve sat in a B-body, you’ve sat in them all. But of course, being a wing car, you’ve got any extra couple feet of nose cone hanging off the front. You definitely want to leave plenty of room in traffic!
Mike showed me what the Daytona is capable of a the freeway cloverleaf. This big Mopar is impressive, especially when you consider it’s a 40 year old, 4,200 pound car. Unlike my junky old B-body, it corners dead flat. And of course, Mike knows how to drive it.

CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot: the 1990-93 Chevrolet Silverado 454 SS
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Welcome to the CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot, a regular feature which aims to expand the notion of what a muscle car is, and to see if a truck can fit the definition of “muscle car.” I featured a Dodge Warlock and Lil Red Express a few weeks ago, so this is the second truck in this series. But how can you argue with a beast that has a 7.4 liter (alright, 454 cubic inches) of pure V8 brawn under the hood of a normal looking, workable truck? Let’s take a closer look at the original SS Sport Truck, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 454 SS. Continue reading after the jump!

Sun Came Out Yesterday, Time For A Car Wash
By Ryan Porter
IN-N-OUT Editor
The sun decided to come out yesterday afternoon so I raced home to get down on a car wash. I’d been pretty upset that I hadn’t been able to wash it in nearly three weeks, so it was overdue. Similar to my last wash, I used my new foam cannon and some other new wash chemicals that I got from the Chemical Guys. As for my method, I’m piggybacking off what I’ve learned from Blake and the NorthWest Auto Salon guys when they did their 24 step car wash. See the products and more images after the jump!

By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
File this one under, “Thank you, Captain Obvious.” NBC news ran a report telling America that tiny cars, like the Smart, Yaris, and Honda Fit, may put you at a disadvantage in a wreck with a larger car.
Hit the link to see this mind-boggling report and some mucho excellent footage of cars being destroyed head-on. That carnage factor is totally why we’re running this story. We’re easily entertained.

Welcome to Ask Dr. Burro, the automotive advice column that answers readers’ questions with wit.
Dear Dr. Burro: “Is there something wrong with my car? Green fluid is shooting out of it. See the attached picture. How do I fix this?”
-Something Green
Green, remember that every car needs regular prostate exams. I would check with your mechanic immediately. The flow rate should be much higher than this picture shows. There could be an obstruction or other problems.

Spade Kreations 1964 Chevy Impala
By DUB Magazine
DUB Magazine
Custom car enthusiast Brad Jones, of Cincinnati, Ohio, calls his sweet ’64 Impala “Inspiration,” and for good reason. “When I bought the convertible, my initial idea was to make it a clean restoration,” Jones recalls. “But shortly after I got into it, I had a change of heart and decided to go full custom.”
Full custom is an understatement; there are virtually no totally stock parts left. That’s why it took Spade Kreations (Cincinnati, Ohio) 3,800 hours to create the “roadster,” but it was worth it. In just a few months Jones’ Impala has won the Squires Cup at the 2008 Cavalcade of Customs, 2008 BET Spring Bling Champion and the Hot Rod Industry Award at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
