I love the paint on Tim’s Catalina. And this is his daily driver. To quote Tim, “I bought this to be my daily driver because whats the point of having a car like this and it only sees that light of day on random weekends…DRIVE YOUR KUSTOM!!!!”

Formula D Round One in the Eyes of Rogue Status

Formula D Long Beach was sick and I’m going to say that it was even sicker in the VIP style that the Rogue Status boys rolled!

This week’s Showroom Showdown was close, but in the end the Xterra emerged victorious. Nice work, Nissan! Ok, so who should I put up to compete with the SVT Raptor next week?

Frustration and Ego Deflation: the GT4 Won't be Ready for the Show

By Sam Barer

Sound Classics

Like many automotive journalists, I’ve been burning the candle at both ends. One lit wick represents my columns, including “Sound Classics” and “Sam Barer’s Four Wheel Drift”. The other side has been a napalm blaze to get the infamous Craigslist 1976 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 back on the road for this weekend’s All-Italian car show at the XXX Rootbeer in Issaquah.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know…the 308 GT4 was going to be back on the road in February. After ripping it apart and getting all necessary parts in January and February, I got sidetracked…Work started in earnest to put it back together last week.

By Brett Powers

audiobahnv8sho

Ever had a question about your car but didn’t know who to ask? Have you ever joined a group devoted to your model of vehicle? Specific car communities specializing in makes, models, restoration styles, or motorsports divisions can be indispensable to whatever your project might be, and I’ve been a member of a few over the years. What groups do you belong to? Read more after the jump.

Lexus LS 430 VIP

By Ben Schaffer

The Real JDM

Although we’re known for representing high end Japanese sports car tuning, often people don’t realize that we also deal a lot with VIP tuning. Unfortunately the VIP tuning scene in the US didn’t take off like I had hoped it would years ago so we never really got a chance to flex our VIP muscle with our deep contacts in Japan within the scene. Nonetheless there are still some really cool VIP cars roaming the streets, some of which we’ve had a hand in.

I’d like to introduce a super clean Lexus LS430 built by Vinh out in Texas. Vinh came to us to take advantage of our VIP connections in Japan for his project idea. The end result is a LS430 rocking Trafficstar STR wheels in a super aggressive size, an Insurance Group roof spoiler and a G-Answer full aero kit (half type).

I think for a daily street cruiser Vinh came up with a winning combination with class, luxury and a unique JDM VIP image.

455-Powered 1979 Cutlass on Craigslist

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

A couple years ago we knew a guy who put a 427 in one of these cars and it was just ungodly fast. We like the idea of the big-inch Olds even better though as it’s the proper brand-in-a-brand situation.

This car would be bad ass to roll into the local ice cream or burger joint with on the weekends. Especially if there were some extracurricular activities planned later in the evening. Leaving the car in primer gives it the street tough look and feel. This thing has all the qualities of a great street bruiser and that 455ci Olds mill should be making cruise ship torque. For a finished, running, caged car, four grand seems like the right price.

If you buy it we get to drive it at least once. See it here.

Evasive EVO X

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

Evasive Motorsports have been busy building a demo car for Voltex Japan. The car has been fitted with a front lip spoiler and diffuser, along with a rear carbon wing and hood scoop. The front spoiler works very well with the car and I’m sure it will help in generating downforce. Especially after seeing some of Voltex’s earlier creation inside a windtunnel. The double bladed carbon wing needs some getting used to, but I’m sold.

For more Voltex goodies you can log onto the Evasive Motorsport blog.
