I don’t think I’ll be challenging that guy anytime soon, even if I went for broke and modified my car till it wasn’t even streetable. The 2.2 blocks only take 500hp before breaking, and of course that kind of power doesn’t sit well with a 4-banger usually. Also wanted to say that you do have a nice set of rides. I know of a guy in my area with a Talon. He’s spent all of his time researching the turbo mopars and thier mitsu brethren. You can see more on his car here: http://www.turbomagazine.com/features/0203tur_1991_eagle_talon/index.html

I think it’s street legal too.

i’m not one to lay low and i give all cars the respect they deserve, postive or negative… i for one hate fords and almost all hondas, but if i see one that is done right (i.e. no coffee can exhaust or 3 ft’ wing), then i give it the respect it deserves. i too believe that all cars with a fart can are ricers. like i said before, i get the criticism all the time purley because i have an import. you should set your goals higher, my car will have 850+HP to all 4 wheels and still be street legal and all body mods are specificly for aerodynamics. try to beat this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d91zK-QlW0
……. and for the record, i read car and driver too, it’s not the greatest reference either….

Correction: make that a mostly stock R/T. Apparently the guy upped the psi on the factory turbo, but that’s about it.

To me rice is fugly body kit, loud fart can exhaust, and a giant wing when it’s not needed. This Fox here is a rear wheel drive balls out race car. It clearly needs the wing not for looks but for traction. And as for my car, it’s stock in appearance, and I’m not going to change that. It has a certain sleeper status, and until any of you actually beat an R/T, you might wanna lay low. When I get finished rebuilding it, it should have around 350hp and 350ftlb. I thank you all for reading my page, and it does make me happy that you underestimate it. The pros know it a little better (unlike Wikapedia- come on man, can’t you find better references?): “Unless you’re piloting, say, a Corvette ZR-1 or a cruise missile, you’ll do well to lay low if a Spirit R/T rolls alongside at a stoplight.” -Car and Driver, 1991. And also for the record, here’s your race between a stock R/T and a BMW. The Spirit is mostly stock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfVgr1ygoHA

to add to my earlier comments, 90% of the worlds fastest cars, are imports. and again for RETROMAN, i noticed on you “wish to beat” list, you listed any BMW M-Series. good luck that will never happen. the Germans use the same engines for the M-Series that car on the stock models and only chage engine internals and maybe a turbo here and there and give those engines a f**k load of extra power. so the M-Series is WAY out of your league… as well as an LS1 Camaro.. WAAAAYYYYYYY out of your league… stick to the Civics and Toyota Prius’….

I have nothing against wings or body kits. If your makin racecar power you need racecar parts an technology otherwise alot of us would end up destroyin alot of cars drivin that hard. But I am again ugly kit-ed up carswith no power or reason for usin a race level part on a grandma level car.

let me say something to the guy posted below me (retroman). i own 2 cars that are concidered “ricers”. but i have not modded either in such a fashion. i don’t even like the stock wing that came on my Eclipse. i know it has no function on a FWD car and i intend on removing it from my car. furthermore, you should do some research on your own 1992 Dodge Spirit R/T…. if you are anti-ricer, you shouldn’t even like your own car. it has a LOTUS engine for the turbo models like yours, and a MITSUBISHI engine for the non-turbo models. either way, you have a domestic car with an import engine. don’t belive me, read the facts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Spirit
until then, you may add my car to your “Wish to Beat List” it’s a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS-T… go ahead, you know you want to. but you’ll never beat it. i too dislike ricers and hate it when my car is refered to as one, but the big difference between the 1st and 2nd gen eclipse and eagle talon is that they came from the factory with turbos and AWD, true “RICRES” such as the civic didn’t and wish they did. and to the owner of the fox- mustang, the wing is kinda out of place, but at least you put it on a car that makes use of it so good shit. car looks good otherwise.

Let me clarify myself here. I am not usually in favor of wings because of all the ricers that have perverted thier use. The wing was developed in racing and adapted to many street going supercars. Muscle cars first got introduced to the wing with the advent of the Superbird, and that thing looked freaking awesome. This Mustang is no different. It’s primary purpose is functionality for racing, but it combined with other cues actually add visual appeal much like the Superbird. You can’t say I’m anti-wing, I’m just anti-rice.

Who cares what other people say. That wing and that paint job is killin’ and that Stang clearly has more than enough power to need the wing.
