Welcome to the Hot Rod Power Tour

By Ryan Brutt

Hi guys. I blogged about the Hot Rod Power Tour last year for CarDomain, and I thought I’d do it again.

For this first post I thought I would go into some detail about what is going on, and what the plans are. First off, the Hot Rod Power Tour is a seven day, seven city adventure going from one point in the United States to another. This year it’s going from Madison, Wisconsin to Bristol, Tennessee.

About 2,000 car guys and gals get together and travel to each stop along the way. At every stop, there is another large show with local people joining in. Normally at each event, a different vendor does different things, from a cruise night, to autocross.

Last year I couldn’t get my 71 Challenger done in time, and I didn’t have the ability to do so again this year, so I decided to take the plunge and purchase my first new car, a 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic in B5 blue. That sadly hit the fan, and I’m now taking my 88 Caprice Classic Brougham with cop car engine and suspension.

I want to go on the Power Tour and ride with my personal hero, Christopher Titus and his insane ’56 Chevy, done by Chip Foose.

Very nice pics. This inspired me to share pics of my hummer limousine in Toronto, too.

I know someone who has one of these. I forgot how many but it has an INSANE amount of miles on the odometer. Friggin’ thing is showing no signs of dying anytime soon.

I’ll explain the Challenger problems in the next blog. I did take the Caprice last year though, and had a blast.

True, I remember you taking this Caprice last time? What happened with your Challenger? I am looking forward to your coverage, should be an awesome event!

The caprice is sweet though… didnt you take it last year as well? Why did the new challenger idea fall through?
