Shelby GT500 Beats the Vette on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
This one came as a bit of a surprise, mostly cause the Vette seemed to be killing the Shelby right out of the gate. But the Shelby slowly reeled the Vette back in, and managed to win last week’s Showroom Showdown by a decent margin. Nice work, Shelby. My favorite comment was by dgaf88: “I’ll take a Shelby because I’m more into muscle than sport cars. Raw power just isn’t as fun without the shitty handling.” Stay tuned for another Showroom Showdown tomorrow!

Well, the Stang does have one advantage: It’s more affordable to younger guys who don’t even have a 401k or good job yet. The Vette on the other hand has a median owner age range between 55 and dead. Granted there are a few models (like the infamous ‘84) that younger guys like myself can afford, and I wouldn’t mind a Vette. I love both cars for what they are, but when it comes down to it, you can’t argue that the Vette just doesn’t have many 18-24 yr old owners, where as the Mustang was created to cater to that market. Seriously, when was the last time you saw an 18 yr old kid driving a Vette, let alone one that was actually his??

If the mustang beat the vette we must have alot of balding middle aged men with fanel shirts and bluetooth pieces on this site. You know the type… Generic $9.99 sunglasses, No creativity or origitality in his purchases, they drive with the top up even on sunny days, and when the top is down they they can even be bothered to put that little cover on it to hide that folded mess behind them. When your at a light they look down on you like you drive a honda, even if your not, and they are douche bags that buy a car that is nothing but a badge. That goes for mustangs 2005 and up, BMW of this century, and those homos that buy BMW made Mini cooper’s.

The GT500 is more fun!! It still has a live axle, and who doesn’t love the whine of the mighty supercharger

I bet my Friend a $100 that the Shelby GT500 would win against the Vette. I WON.

I’m proud of the results, the better car won (my stupid computer hasn’t been working or I would’ve voted for Shelby anyway).

I posted that I would rather have an Ariel Atom and decimate both cars and their owners’ pride…..

Well, as Nicholas Cage’s character said about the ‘67 GT500, it’s a real “unicorn”. No matter how hard you try to tame it and get it to handle, you can’t, and that’s what I love about it and all Shelbys really. dgaf88 said it the best though. Nice comment man.

Again, it wasn’t a head-to-head compo regarding which car was necessarily “better”, it was based upon which one you liked. I liked the Shelby, and apparently so did a lot of others.
Shitty handling and all.

Can’t say I didn’t see it coming, but I still voted for the ‘Vette.
