Wrangler With a Twin-Turbo Viper Motor!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Talk about insane! This Jeep is pushing 716HP at the wheels, which seems like more than enough to make it turn back flips. There isn’t any detail on the actual install in the clips StreetFire member badwrangler has posted, and the German site referenced doesn’t work. But from what I can see in this video, it looks like all the transplant work is uber-clean. Now, I don’t want to sound like a heretic, but it seems like a twin-turbo Viper motor could provide a little too much power for this platform. I mean, seriously, isn’t this like attaching a rocket engine to a toaster? Watch the way the tires smoke up on the first run, and don’t miss this clip of a launch from 90KM/H.

That is an insane mod that guy did but you really gotta have balls to drive one of those things fast. I hear that those wranglers can be figity on the highway. I can’t even imagine driving that sucker at 100 mph. That thing’s probably only good in a straight line too. They flip way too easily to try to drive that thing in the twisty’s at anything more than the legal limit. Still its an awesome design and definately unique

well theres an Old saying, You can never have enough power. Unless the engine brakes itself from your car and drives off on its own haha but nice setup, not a big fan of jeeps but i definitely love the Vipers V10 engine, Kudos

Don’t worry John, I agree with ya! It’s not heresy, it’s just the truth! Why, why would you throw this 716 hp monster of a motor in an old Jeep Wrangler? I mean the wheelbase alone just ain’t right for the power. Maybe if it was a monster truck with a trick suspension, ok. Otherwise, looks like a waste of money! But kudos to the man on the mission!

I could see this setup in a Cherokee, but not in a Wrangler. I’m certain it packs quite the punch, but what are you going to do with THAT much power in a vehicle that is so light and high?

Way cool!! I can’t tell for sure, but it does look like they widened the track. Take a look, the tires stick out passed the flares which also look to be several inches wider that stock.

great idea, really very sick. but….. That think is hellified dangerous. I would of put that motor in a new JK rubicon 4 door because of the longer wheelbase and wider stance. Just picture one with that motor, 7in lift and 40 inch tires on 20 inch rims. now that would be functional sickness fo sho
