World's First LS9 Powered 2010 Camaro SS
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
This is the first shot of the Hennessey’s new baby running, and damn, does it sound mean. Sure, the open headers have something to do with it, but still, damn. I have to wonder how wicked it sounds in person. But while I think the idea of dropping the ZR1′s powerplant into a new Camaro is cool—and I think the guys at Hennessey are wizards—the $109K price tag does give me pause. Seriously, if we’re talking that kind of money, I’d rather have the Corvette. Because while a 705HP Camaro is going to be fast as hell, in my opinion the ZR1 looks cooler, and it’ll definitely get around the track faster. Which would you guys choose?

I am with the majority here…buy an SS and modd it for less, or drop in an LS7 – they get that power easy, it’s naturally aspirated and it’s a 427!
For that money, it’s ZR1 all the way!

Yeah I’d have to agree with 80-zcamaro. Yes that car sounds wonderful and I’m indeed always a camaro fan down to the bone. But I’d rather buy a classic and spend half that then spend 109k on a new camaro. Just give me the base model SS and I guarantee I can get those numbers and more. But that is a beautiful car all they need now is to make it look like the camaro Chip Foose did for the new Transformers movie, Bumble-Bee was bad a**.

I think that they could build that exact car for alot less but these people think that their services are worth the heavy price tag. The days of people spending stupid amounts of money on custum built new American cars is coming to an end. People are loosing their homes and woried about how they are going to buy groceries for their families and these guys want to build a 109k Camaro? I think this car is awsome and I love the new Camaro’s but it is like one of the comments said, it is awsome but I could save my money up and build that car alot cheaper.
The people that could afford that car will spend their money on either Uropean Super Cars or on the American Classics.

If I had to get one or the other I would get the Camaro. But I would save the money and mod one up for myself. I am sure I could make one faster and still have money left over.

I do think the ZR1 looks better, but I have a soft spot for the Camaro. Pricetag aside, I’d go with it.

I wish people knew how to record sound. If you cover up the microphone on that crappy camcorder, you will be able to get rid of the sound distortion of the ridiculously loud exhaust…

Good God!!!!! I think I also just wet myself!!!! This car is really sick. If I had the money I would get me one, and if they had T tops that would set it off in the retro look.

okay, i know that the corvette probably has better suspension, better tuning, better track times, and so on. but you will much more bas @$$ with this camaro. Especially if it could sound like that on the streets.
