2010 Ford Shelby GT500 vs. 2010 Hennessey Performance HPE550 Camaro
Chris Borrelli
This is just a great comparison test. Ford’s toughest Stang vs. Chevy’s toughest Camaro. There have been many arguments over which machine is better (and I’ve participated in most of them). The results from the Edmunds guys are very interesting!

Well, Bryce, what you apparently missed was that the Shelby was slightly better mannered AND outperformed the Camaro in a couple of the comparisons and that’s why it was chosen the best overall car of the two. Just because you have more horsepower that doesn’t make it a better car if it’s a chore to drive it, and 95% of the time you can’t take advantage of such performance just because of daily traffic, anyway.

It’s a sad day in America when the more friendly daily driver beats a powerhouse in a muscle car shootout.

Goes to show is not always about crazy amount of power, if it doesnt’ have the handles. Talking about sweet videos, why didn’t anyone blog about Ken Block’s appearance in Top Gear?!

Always been a Shelby fan, so I’m pleased with thier decision. At first though, I thought they were going to favor the Hennessey Camaro because it’s not a factory produced model while the Shelby is. Bottom line is Factory produced muscle runs into more bean counters. As interesting as this is though, it will be better when they can put the Shelby against an LS1.

Wow, that would be a hard choice. I would get both if I was rich.

Both sweet rides, but I’d go with Ford’s GT500.
