Half Million Dollar Mustang on eBay!
Chris Borrelli
“NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART OR SHORT ON FUNDS…”, was the very first line in the description, and pretty much says it all. A 1969 BOSS 429 Mustang listed oneBay at $505,000. The original owner is selling it with a little over 22,000 on the odometer. Is it too much, or maybe even too little of a price? See for yourself!

Anymore, especially since American auto makers have been imperiled or have imperiled themselves, or whatever the combination of the two… I don’t discriminate.

With that said, I believe the Judge GTO has reached that price mark and I guess I’m not surprised the Boss has finally gotten there, and with balking aside ya gotta remember and recognize value is determined by what someone ends up paying, not what the seller is asking.

Yeah, that means stupidity could possibly taint the outcome, but stupidity often relieves people of their money before they could afford to pay such a price.

If it is a true Boss 429, then the market would demand such a high dollar, especially for a black one. Shelbys can go for just as much, and we all know that other muscle cars like Hemi Cuda convertibles go for far more. Personally, I think it’s rediculous, because it attracts alot of investors that don’t care much for the cars. To them, it’s just a way to make a few bucks next auction while the rest of us who would enjoy them for what they were built for are only left dreaming because the days are gone when you could find a Boss 429 on a used car lot or in a barn and only pay pennies for it if anything at all.

the price is…a bit much. I am a fool for the 69 mustang front end. It is the only in my eyes. The ignition system he has installed(it doesn’t say in ad?) is less than 500 bucks brand new and known for crazy events that could alter the engine (the msd 6al), that tells me the owner wasn’t all that smart. If he had hacked a gm HEI with vacuum dist..I would know he was a truer mechanic then. That price is too much for the amateur mechanics hacked in it. I wouldn’t even use msd on an extinct 3 main sube out of fear. This guy has an engine that would make nervous just to look at it in rarity. “crack pipe” as a jalopnik would say. maybe 50k or something crazy still, but not 500k.
