If anyone has watched Top Gear, they know that Lithium Ion batteries are terrible for the environment. More than the vehicles that are getting traded for said hybrid/ EVs. Good idea though.

Lithium Ion no doubt, and would have all the limitations of Lithium Ion batteries. The whole battery thing is very annoying. Nano Titanate battery technology has been proven and is in use now. Those batteries can do a FULL recharge in as little as 10 minutes – which would revolutionize electric cars way beyond the trinkets, bells and whistles’ worth of advancements that auto makers are incorporating into their EV’s presently.
-
Either they are not taking their own EV development seriously, or are really clamping down with planned obsolescence because there’s not even a mention of what will follow Lithium Ion coming from them – despite the fact that a WAY better technology already exists.
-
I find it all pretty pathetic, and even fault Tesla for this lack of vision.
