Another Mechanical Failure
Grassroots Motorsports
This is what your car’s thermostat should not look like. I had a feeling this was the reason why my Mini was running warm. This stuff happens to all of us, right?

Bio Buses Spotted on PCH
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
Cruisin’ up Pacific Coast Highway today I spotted some wild buses. At first, I noticed that the paint scheme of one of them was pretty sweet, then after stopping, I got a closer look. Owners Steve Hopkins and Johnny Martinez were sportin’ BIOBUSES. Vegetable Oil as fuel, these sweet cruisers head all over the state doing events and promoting green goodness.
It’s one thing to paint up a bus like the Partridge Family, but to do something with a purpose and promote all things positive is cool. We need more of that in this country right now. They’ll be doing tons of green mods soon, but for now, it’s off to Vons for some Wesson. More pics after the jump!
Scuderia Party!
By John Coyle

Outside of a Ferrari track day, when do you get to see this many Scuderias together at once? Even though there’s no blatant hooliganism—not that I’d ever support that—just getting to watch this sexy chain of Scuderia sheet metal snake through some California canyons is more than enough to keep me happy. Damn.

Totally Unfair: Veyron vs GT-R
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
It takes a fast car to make Godzilla look sluggish, but Bugatti’s Veyron, to put it mildly, is one hell of a fast car. It also costs a million bucks more than Nissan’s monster, and every one of those dollars is on display in this clip. I think this kind of comparison, however unfair and kind of silly, is cool because without a benchmark—and let’s face it, a clock can be kind of a boring one—getting some perspective on the Veyron’s insanity-provoking quickness is almost impossible. Bravo to the guys from EVO Magazine for getting to pull of this awesome “test.”
Sunset Gold 2010 Mustang

I saw one of these Sunset Gold 2010 Mustangs on the road a few days ago and was a bit shocked. Honestly, I’m not sure what I think of this color on a newer car. I like gold on some 60s muscle cars, but, dunno… What do you think? Props to Sal for taking some great pics of his new Stang.

Burly Colt Bucks Off Tranny at 120MPH!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Obviously, this isn’t your average Mitsubishi Colt. The motor’s been completely built, and it’s running—get this—44 PSI of boost. After a couple of dyno runs, the pocket rocket registers a staggering 520HP at the wheels, and while we know the engine probably won’t last long under those conditions, thanks to this clip, we know how long the stock tranny will endure. After the car gets taken for a triple-digit run, the gearbox decides it just isn’t ready for this kind of power and drops straight out of the car. The clutch winds up a couple of lanes away, and everybody involved helpfully points out that the driver doesn’t have to worry about pulling the tranny anymore. Fortunately, none of the angry metal came through the floorboard. Good times.
LeMons New England Wrap Up
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
I though I would do a final wrap up this series with how we placed in the top third of all the competitors, with the slowest car on the track. So if you’re interested, continue reading after the jump!

Rat Rod Amazon on eBay

Ok, so it’s not really a rat rod, but I think it looks pretty good. Tons of of pics over at the eBay auction.
GT-RR Demo Car You Tube Walk Around
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
This morning I did a quick walk around of the GT-RR demo car. The result is our first video on youtube and I thought it would be a fun way to show the car with something other than still pictures.
Mainly I wanted to showcase the recently installed Top Secret suspension which still is a bit of a trip to see. As far as I can tell, the R35 GT-R community has never seen this system in action yet. People just don’t expect a race suspension to be able to lift or lower a car by remote control. This version of the suspension still uses the stock electronic controlled dampers. We set the spring height at an ideal level for a street driven car (which this car is designed to be). I run the same Top Secret height adjustable suspension on my S2000 and its awesome! The fact that Top Secret builds industry leading race cars that run this stuff means that its certified pure function both on the track and when you drive it back home and need to clear your car over an entry into a garage.
World's Largest Production Motorcycle Completed
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
Thanks to Dave Wallace for the tip on this one. The Gunbus 410, the world’s largest production motorcycle has been born in Germany. It sports a 410ci V-Twin motor and tips the scales at over 1,400 pounds.
The man who built this one and who plans to actually sell a limited run of these creations is Clemens F. Leonhardt and he is obviously as crazy as the day is long. We looked for video of the bike running if for no other reason than to hear it chugging away. It must sound like some sort of bizarre tractor at idle. At full tilt it probably sounds like Satan himself is riding in.
Did we mention that the motor makes 523 ft/lbs of torque?
You need to get all the goods on this motorcycle of doom by clicking here to be whisked to The Kneeslider which has the scoop and a link to the company building them.
