Up On Two Wheels in Qatar!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
I also didn’t even blog this because I thought the branding of the video was so completely obnoxious, but after watching it a couple of times, I couldn’t resist. Personally, I think the coolest part is how these crazy dudes use the little loop at the beginning to get the car up, but watching the two passengers hang out the windows makes me cringe. On wrong move from the driver, and both of those guys are history. Obviously, don’t try this at home.
Local Club Runs Can Be Fun
By Ron Honig
WaytooFurious
Sunday was a great day for me. The weather was really nice so I could not have picked a better day to go for a drive. As it happened the Chrysler club that I am a member of was having a club run, so I decided to tag along. Now for the record I have been a member of the BCCCC for two years, and Sunday was the first time that I had been on run or met any of the club members. Circumstances have always kept me away, and for a long time I was unsure about the whole ‘club’ thing. However it turned out to be a really enjoyable day. I got to check out some really cool cars, met some great people and we had a bit of fun by driving around my home town of Geelong. The club President, Eddie Castello, organised the run and decided to keep it local rather than making it a long distance affair. This was a great move as I got to check out some local attractions that I have never looked at. So if you are organising your own club run it can be worthwhile keeping it local. More pics after the jump.

Pikes Peak: Fiesta Tears Up Parking Lot
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Neither of the two Fiestas entered actually made it to the top of Pikes Peak over the weekend, but this one sure looked cool tearing up the parking lot at a press event. There weren’t any bog surprises at this year’s race, but given how treacherous the course is, that’s almost a good thing. For a good recap of all the action at the Hill Climb check out today’s episode of Fast Lane Daily.
Cash for Clunkers Not Just Blog Fodder: It's Really Happening
By David Clarke

So the automotive community is abuzz over Cash For Clunkers. Working at a new car dealer in upstate New York I figured I’d see maybe two or three cars qualify for the program. Well, I was clearly wrong. The public is well informed about the program and cars are piling up out back, ready for the crusher. Some of the cars are pretty surprising, like the Jaguar, Land Rover and a Camper Vanagon. It’s sad to say, but this looks like it’s going to be far worse than I anticipated. More pics after the jump.

1968 Torino GT 390 on eBay
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
This 1968 Torino GT 390 hit us in the gut as we’ve recently admitted to ourselves that we have a super soft spot for these cars.
This particular example is a nice piece. It’s not some super rare, one of none car, instead it’s a solid car with the right stuff like a 335hp Police Interceptor 390, a 9″ differential with 3.25 gears and a factory limited slip, bucket seats and a C6.
This is a car you could jump into and have a blast with immediately, our favorite kind (but strangely the ones we never seem to buy). Dad was apparently fixin’ this one up for his kiddo, but college bill started flowing in, so it’s up for sale. Grab it and start putting the FE torque to work!

Mmmm… I know white cars are all the rage right now but it’s hard to beat the presence that a blacked out car exudes…. Yum… Just look that that thing…. so good! See more pics of this car at Speedhunters

It's Not Just About Length, It's How You Use It!
By Sam Barer

Size has always been a big issue to me with respect to vehicles. To quote Lemmy from Motorhead: “it’s not how big your pencil is, it’s how you write your name”. And at 6’4”, I’m sick of finding that even big cars and SUVs have insufficient interior space to allow someone to sit behind me without knees or feet in my back.
Seemingly every single time I interact with an automotive media representative or car salesman I’m told how fitting in a specific vehicle will be “no problem”. Sometimes, they’ll even cite interior dimensions statistics, which most automotive journalists will tell you are inherently useless, due to the lack of standards in how they are calculated.
Much to their amazement, when I get in and adjust the seat and tell them to get in and sit behind me, it usually becomes crystal clear that their vehicle (like most cars, trucks and SUVs offered for sale around the globe) is abysmally tight on the inside.

Pebble Beach Pansies
By Fireball Tim

Ok, so I head to Pebble Beach California for the Concours. You know the place. No cars under 5 billion dollars. But, like most Concours shows, this one’s fulla wanna be car guys with stuffy shirts and phat wallets. I mean, since when do you go out and buy a million dollar car and just have it delivered directly to the show?
No mods. No custom paint. No big cans. No twin turbos. No under car lighting. I MEAN, WHAT’S THE DEAL??? Just cool cars. Lots of cool cars. Cool cars that NO ONE EVER GETS TO SEE! Cool cars that are worth bank and you CAN TOUCH! Cool cars that make you have to change your shorts. (Okay, too far on that one.) Plus! Cigars, Martinis and some serious hot girls that we didn’t film. Probably because we were all too busy looking.
It was my soul search for Hondas, but to my dismay, none could be found. But I did manage to find some serious rides from this “SUPER COOL CAR SHOW.”
