Silver Bullet EVO X
By Speedhunters
Car Culture At Large
The EVO X seems to be a bit hit in America and is quickly becoming a popular tuning platform. The Chicago-based AMS shop is one of the leading proponents of US Evo tuning and they built up this ‘silver bullet’ street/Time Attack machine. They got the car fresh from the dealer with only a few miles on the odometer and started to tear it apart. The guys at AMS started the build with one thing in mind, and that was to create a street drivable, time attack machine. So it needed to be lightweight and it had to pack a serious punch. Giant Gathering of Little Cars
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
Had a chance to check out Charles Gould’s 14th annual Microcar and Minicar Classic Event on Saturday and came away impressed. Not only did Charles manage to attract a wide variety of little cars to his corner of Boston (in addition to his own eclectic collection), but as I sat on the hill at Larz Anderson watching over the event, I realized that there were more women and children at this one event actually enjoying themselves (rather than just appeasing Dad) than I’ve seen at any other event I’ve attended. FD Vegas: From Zero to Hero and Vice Versa
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
The fourth round of the 2009 Formula Drift Championship is in the books and what a scorcher it was. I think I’m supposed to write some sort of witty quip about the triple digit temps here, but truth be told my brain is still somewhat melty. And not from the heat, but rather the stunning points shakeup that went down in Vegas. Coming into Sin City Darren McNamara was leading in points but a mechanical with his Falken Tire Sears Auto Center Sky finished his weekend before it even started. Another shocking DNQ was that of 2005 champion, Rhys Millen. Just when we thought the points chase couldn’t be flipped any more Tanner Foust goes in it to win it after a rare DNQ at round three. Hit the video to see it all. And no matter what Tanner and Stephan may say, I am not a pussy, their NASCAR V-8 just happens to scare me a little bit, that’s all.
LeMons: I  ArcAngel
Atomicalex
See the chick with the angel wings? She’s got a grinder and a MIG welder, and if you’re bad, she welds stuff to your car. She welded a pig to the Corvair after one of our spinouts. She’s welding a BMW 7er grille with spikes on it to this LeMons racer. The spikes are pointed at the radiator, and in theory, the next time the drivers hit someone, their radiator buys it. I love this chick. She’s got style.

What Does it Take to Sell a Car These Days?
By Ron Honig
WaytooFurious
I realize that things are tough in the car market, particularly in the area of collector cars. People are really holding onto their cash these days, so what does it take to sell that ‘special’ car? I have come to the conclusion that it takes a lot of effort. To demonstrate this I give you exhibit A, which is this highly modified Charger. Then there is exhibit B, which is the Plymouth Road Runner from the Wrecks to Riches show. I have lost count of the amount of times that I have seen both advertised on E-bay! By the time you read this the Charger sale will have ended but to date there have been no bids. Admittedly the $179,000 asking price is probably scaring away any buyers. The Plymouth on the other hand is priced at a more realistic $69,000. However at that price you could build one yourself, the way you want it. So what do you think, are these collectibles over-priced or are times just to tough to make a sale?

Mike Burroughs' 1988 BMW 635CSi
Gotadime
Mike Burroughs is a world class automotive photographer and proud owner of his 1988 BMW 635CSi. When considering working with Mike (for photography purposes), I was fishing through his Flickr and came across a relatively rare BMW that he seemed to photograph multiple times. I quickly found that it was his own ride and when I contacted him about it, he was more than happy to talk.

Jerry Hathaway’s Wicked Citroen SMs
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
With an attained 202MPH on the Salt Flats in Utah, Jerry Hathaway’s Maserati-powered race car is the fastest Citroen SM in the world. Hathaway has been fascinated with Citroens for 35 years, and while he’s unquestionably proud of the record-setting racer, he’s actually more pumped about the matching car and trailer he build to tow it. The workhorse CV lost its rear seats in favor of a pickup bed, and the trailer uses Citroen hydraulic components to allow it to be towed empty without bouncing around. Oh, and they’re both completely gorgeous in a ’60s spaceship kind of way. The whole set-up will be on display at the La Dolce Vita Automobili at Black Horse in Monterey on August 14th, so if you’re nearby, go check it out. Two more pics after the jump.

Aussie Tester Gets Ferrari California Impounded
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
When CarDomain was preparing to get our first test car last year, I remember all the editors had to fill out a bunch of paperwork and agree to have our driving records checked over. And since I’d gotten my first speeding ticket in almost ten years just days before I was handed the forms, I was a little nervous. But everything worked out, and while I’ve certanily had my share of uncomfortable conversations with Rob, I never had to call from jail or report that I’d gotten a tester impounded. Unfortunately, one journalist Down Under recently got a little carried away with Ferrari’s new California. He was popped for doing 142MPH, which resulted in the brand-new Cavallinio getting impounded. Good luck getting your hands on another tester buddy! More over at Jalopnik.

Lemons New England: TTTOS: All About the Team, the Car, and the Challenge
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
While Katherine has been busy posting all about our exploits in the 24 Hours of LeMons New England, I was steadily recovering from the event. Well, now that I’m back (with more Obscure Muscle Car Postings, I promise) let me tell you how this whole episode came together.
