1985 Omni GLH on Craigslist

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

The 1985 Dodge Omni GLH Turbo was a neat little car that managed to trade blows with the European offerings of the day and with a little work, could shame the overweight and underpowered pony cars of the mid-’80s.

The GLH could be had in turbo and non-turbo versions. This one is a rarer turbo model and came equipped with a 146hp 2.2L four banger. It made 170 ft/lbs of torque at 3,600 RPM and was matched with a five-speed transmission. 6,500 of the cars were made, and it is not known how many were turbocharged and how many were naturally aspirated.

This particular car appears to be in decent shape with respect to the body but the motor is ill and needs to be pulled apart due to a lack of compression. Sounds like a perfect excuse to build an anvil of an engine and hit the drags.

EVO Wagon of Darkness

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

I saw that a few of you guys wanted to see some more Evo Wagon material, so I headed to the treasure chest of car photos that is Minkara and found this shot of a tuned Evo IX Wagon running on the circuit in Japan. I don’t think a station wagon has ever looked more evil…

A Little Bit Country – Crosleys Embrace Farm Theme

By Dan Strohl

Hemmings

I know I missed a lot by not attending the Crosley Auto Club’s national meet a couple weeks ago, but the photos that club webmaster Jim Bollman has posted to the club’s website helped a little with filling me in on the happenings. One microtheme I noticed in the photos was a tendency to mix Crosleys into a farming theme. Does it come from the fact that Crosleys are often found in barns nowadays, as the wagon above displays? Goodman's Single Cab Deluxe

By Antonio Alvendia

The streets of Miami are filled with tons of high end, exotic cars. From South Beach to Star Island and Coral Gables to Downtown Miami, you can find Lamborghinis, Porsches, and Ferraris littering the streets – you literally see them parked on every street corner. The funny thing, though, is that while I constantly drive right past Lamborghinis with a bored look on my face, I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw this 1967 Volkswagen Single Cab (truck) cruising down the street. To be honest, I had never seen anything like it before. I just don’t see these types of cars every day!

When I saw this Volkswagen Single Cab driving down the street, I was already late to meet up with some friends from out of town who work for a big car magazine, but they would just have to wait a bit longer – this Single Cab had me buggin out because it has so much style. I just had to stop and shoot some photos! Check out the detailed photos and continue reading at MotorMavens.com.

Fireball Floors it in San Francisco

By Fireball Tim

Movie Car Design Master

So, off I went to San Francisco to check out a new club. This one is called Club Sportiva. Join this one and you get to do INSANE DRIVING!!!!!!

Pricey for sure, but we aren’t drivin’ Pintos. In this episode of “World of Cars,” I’m screamin’ the best of the best. Serious machines through the streets of San Fran. And taking a Lambo down Haight Street yelling “Down with corporate greed!” made it a day worth remembering.

If you can’t buy an exotic, DO THIS.

Crushing Things

By David Wallens

Grassroots Motorsports

Come on, admit it: Seeing a giant vehicle crush something into a metallic pancake is cool. Nashville’s Lane Motoring Museum agrees, and this weekend their LARC-LX–a 194,000-pound amphibious military supply ship–will turn some once 3D items into street pizza.

Can You Ever Consider a Car Finished?

By David Clarke

highspeedhijinks

My answer to that question for is yes. After owning a car for several years (in my case six) there comes a point when you feel like enough is enough. Money-wise Roxy owes me nothing, the car looks the way I want it to, and it runs great. Obviously maintenance doesn’t count, but as far as cosmetics are concerned, I’ll consider this one mission accomplished. So I’ll ask you these question: Do you think a car can ever be considered done? Is yours done? And at what point would you consider it done?

Interview With GT5 Producer Kazunori Yamauchi

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

When GTChannel interviewed Gran Turismo 5 Producer Kazunori Yamauchi, he couldn’t give much info about the forthcoming game. But he did say that the designers deliberately included NASCAR because of it’s massive popularity stateside, and that he enjoyed going to a race in Texas. The interview is cool of course, but the sexy parts of this clip are the new teaser shots from GT5, which look completely insane. Yamauchi wouldn’t give a definite release date for the game, but damn, it looks like it’ll be worth the wait.

"B-Team" Van on Craigslist

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

When I went to save the image of this van, the file was titled “bteam-1,” which cracked me up. Honestly, I can’t understand why the dude who posted the ad didn’t include the van’s nickname along with the obligatory quote from the A-Team opening. Unlike the pimped out ride from the show, this is a Ford, not a Chevy, and while there aren’t any interior pics, we can assume it’s not fitted with the four captain’s chair set-up. But even with the tranny leak, for $1000, this baby doesn’t seem like such a bad deal. Think about what an awesome score this would be for a young touring band! Head over to Craigslist to read the original post, and don’t miss the totally awesome bumper sticker that comes with the van.
