Where There's Smoke…

Generally, the old adage about smoke and fire doesn’t hold true during burnouts, but unfortunately, in this case it did. From the intensity of this burnout, the motor underneath the hood of this little Civic must have had some grunt to it. Too bad it’s toast now…

I may own a little four banger but this needs to be said leave the burnouts to the pro’s(big v8 rwd) nuff said.

Funny…..I watched the Mythbusters try unsuccessfully to ignite a fire with hot rubber during a burnout. I think there were mitigating issues with the car. I think perhaps there might have been an oil leak, a spark from the electrical system under full load…perhaps a fuel pump ssiue…something else ignited the hot rubber, not just the friction…
