Stanceworks Roadtrip

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

In a hour and half I can make a cross country road trip to the west coast in Holland. Doing the same thing in the US is something else. I would love to do the same thing that Mike Burroughs did with his BMW E28, that some of you might have seen before. This rusted BMW E28 just oozes style. Thanks to the photographic eye of Mike Burroughs we can enjoy some more of shots of this amazing car taken during his trip from Nashville, TN to San Jose, CA. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Oozes STYLE? That car looks more like a rusty POS with nice wheels on it. Of course it soon will be anyway. I hope these idiots know rust cannot be controlled, once it starts, it’s hard to stop. DUMBEST TREND EVER.

For what its worth I do like everything being lowered like that although scraping the ground must be expected and tolerated. I like the equal spacing between all axles. I like the appearance of rust but really don’t like the actual rust, and the contrasting colors and cleanliness of the blue/silver rims is kinda refreshing… but I can’t stop thinking a car’s melting before my eyes…

It’s funny to think Mike was at my wife’s car show at Frubble on the 8th in Santee, CA! That trailer was scrapping everywhere with how low it was setup. Love his work!

Trying to figure out the appeal, but hey looks like it was fun for him.

I truthfully do not see how that looks cool, especially on a whole car. Maybe just the hood or the trunk with the rust decor, but definitely not the whole car.

I can see beauty in the color of rust, that much is certain to me but the act of intentionally stripping the vehicle’s body to expose the metal to the elements – therefore exponentially speeding up the car’s demise seems like blatant idiocy – all in the name of art.

Why not employ some technique with paint to recreate the patina of rust. Rust is not Carbon Fiber or anything exotic, it is rot! Why not have a rust wrap? I’m sure that could be convincing, well unless its on a ’90s Saturn’s fenders or doors or just about anywhere on a Fiero.
