Till Death Do Us Part

By Chris Borrelli

Chris Borrelli

Well not for this 90 year old South Carolina man. Lonnie Holloway was buried in the fron seat of his 1973 Pontiac Catalina. He was buried in the same spot his wife was- but in the driver seat of his car. Yeah kinda weird-but would you do it? Would you have yourself burried in the front seat of your car? Heck, it doesn’t even have to be your car, well I guess I am getting to would you be burried in a car, if so what car? Personally I wouldn’t want to get burried in a car I would want it to be driven for as long as possible by my kids and there kids and there kids. Tell us what you think!

Honoring the last wishes of someone by burying him in his vehicle would destroy the vehicle of course – and it may be in pristine condition – but I think honoring last wishes, if achievable is very important.

I don’t think I would take a car with me. Not even sure I would make it into the ground myself. I’m not talking ’bout ending up like Jeff Bridges in “Tideland”… just the usual ash conversion.
-
Maybe I would request to be ground up real fine and mixed in with light cut polishing compound, then I would contribute one last time to the beautification of my favorite ride, whatever that might be at that time.
