Chrysler to Spin Off Ram as a Fourth Brand?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Allpar is reporting that Chrysler is considering launching Ram as a fourth brand to be used for trucks only. Dodge would then be reserved for cars, which would be more closely associated with Fiat-based vehicles. This makes absolutely no sense to me, but whatever. I just hope they don’t kill off the Challenger.

Forget the challenger, the Viper needs more attention!

Don’t see the point… Why don’t they finally give us back Jeep pickup trucks instead?? I understand the in house competition thing, but I don’t think that would be a problem if they brought back the Commanche as a light duty truck.

I really do not see the point, wouldn’t it be cheaper with the cost of logos, advertisemant, and all legal the junk just to keep the name brand the same. I think it would just create more troubles than it would make better.

Government Motors does that with GMC but it doesn’t make any sense there either since they make both GMC and Chevy Trucks. It would make most sense to do SUVs and trucks both under the Ram brand if they did it because a Ram should be the same brand as a Durango. Jeep is a strong SUV brand. So would it be Dodge Cars, Fiat Cars, Jeep SUVs and Ram trucks?
