Penske Abruptly Calls Off Deal to Acquire Saturn

Penske cited “concerns directly related to the future supply of vehicles beyond the supply period it had negotiated with GM.” GM then announced plans to shut down the brand. Full story at the New York Times

Saturn is a sort of Microcosm of GM. Saturn off’ed the Sky, and GM off’ed Pontiac.

“the supply of vehicles”?!? Saturn’s supposed to be a car company. They’re supposed to MAKE cars, otherwise they’re not a car company… they’re a different kind of car company.

the most ridiculous decision was to off Pontiac, and at the time I constantly thought “Why not save Pontiac and get rid of the downgrading Saturn?”
they got what they deserve lol
