Behind the Scenes of the LP560-4 Promo

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

The Gallardo might not be the best drift car, but that didn’t stop Samuel Hubinette from getting it sideways, and at the end of the shoot for the Italian Stallion’s promo video, the Crazy Swede apparently wanted to “liberate” one for personal use. To be honest, I wasn’t all that pumped on the finished product—remember that thing about how a Lamborghini would get you girl’s phone numbers?—but watching all the killer camera cars and the logistics behind the production was pretty awesome. And it’s not like there’s a lack of sexy Italian eye-candy either…

WSTO BMW 135i

By Antonio Alvendia

Antonio Alvendia

Hey guys, this is Leigh Roto from the Risky Devil street drifting crew in Chicago. I’m the driver of the light blue JZA70 Toyota Supra Turbo that you may have seen in the photos from All Star Bash Weekend.

Not many people know this, but I work at a BMW shop called WSTO. We bought this BMW 135i back in September and I LOVE it. It’s not the most extreme build, but for a streetable daily driver it hauls balls and I think it looks dope. Continue reading and view more photos at MotorMavens.

Till Death Do Us Part

By Chris Borrelli

Chris Borrelli

Well not for this 90 year old South Carolina man. Lonnie Holloway was buried in the fron seat of his 1973 Pontiac Catalina. He was buried in the same spot his wife was- but in the driver seat of his car. Yeah kinda weird-but would you do it? Would you have yourself burried in the front seat of your car? Heck, it doesn’t even have to be your car, well I guess I am getting to would you be burried in a car, if so what car? Personally I wouldn’t want to get burried in a car I would want it to be driven for as long as possible by my kids and there kids and there kids. Tell us what you think!

Bad-Ass Little Samurai Tears Up the Dirt

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

One of my favorite pieces of motorcycle advice has always been “keep it shiny side up.” And while it’s not really related to the clip of this bad-ass little Suzuki tearing up the dirt, it totally popped into my head when I was watching it. How cool is it when it recovers from being on its side?

Fireball's Cool Designs of the Week!

By Fireball Tim

Movie Car Design Master

Interesting items this week. Extremes. As in, this is really cool/God awful. And so, we play the field of design to see wus up. Technical stuff, I know. But what do you expect from me? Serious behavior?

IN THIS CORNER! WEIGHING IN AT A SHARP STEALTHY WEIGHT OF….

1. THE ASTON MARTIN SYMBIOSIS

AstonMartinSymbiosis

Sick. Elegantly wrapped design a glassy liquid form. And if I were a bird, I’d target this one in a big way. Imagine the damage a seagull could create on this beast? It’d be like ARTPOO. Nice. Oh, although not too practical in the “I gotta buy more Windex now” category. Time to hit Cosco.

Steve-O and Tom Green Jump Around on Lambo

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

So if you didn’t think  Steve-O and Tom Green were idiots—and um, assholes—before watching this clip, something tells me you will now. Apparently this Murcielago is owned by a rap producer they’re friends with, but I still don’t think that you should jump on a car like this, regardless of whether the owner tells you it’s OK. I’m a total pacifist, and this incident makes me want to support capital punishment. To hell with these pieces of [expletive deleted].

GM to offer 60-Day Money Back Guarantee on All New Vehicle Purchases

By John Coyle

Deputy Editor

While I think this 60-Day Money Back Guarantee Chairman Edward E. Whitacre Jr. announced today sounds like a great way to demonstrate that the General has confidence in its products, I still couldn’t help but think of a couple of funny situations. The big one? New Corvette owners returning their babies with bald tires after spending every possible second flogging them on the track, then driving to another dealership and repeating the process. It’s not that I want to see this strategy backfire—exactly the opposite: I love the General—but I have a tendency to look at things from a glass-half-full perspective. You can probably think of some other terrible type scams, so check out this New York Times article and post them in the comments.

The Original Dodge Deora Is Headed for the Auction Block

By Brian Lohnes

BangShift.com

The Dodge Deora is simply one of the coolest vehicles ever built, as it’s both an Alexander Bros. custom and one of the original sixteen Hot Wheels. Now it could be yours as RM Auctions is planning on selling the truck as part of its Icons of Speed and Style Auction at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles on September 26th, 2009.

The auction house expects the truck to command in the neighborhood of $500,000. We can only imagine the potential of this bad boy in an economy flush with cash. Click here for a photo gallery at Autoblog.com, and head over to BangShift to read the whole press release from RM Auctions.
