Caption Contest: This Week's Winner!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Monday marked CarDomain’s 11th birthday—which is like, 672 in internet years—so we invited employees old and new to come into the office, drink beer, and eat nachos. It was totally awesome, but I probably should have eaten more nachos and drank less beer. I mean, it’s Thursday, and I’m still hungover. Ugh. Now, on to the business at hand. This week’s winner is Greg311 who came up with; “Buy it now: because sometimes free overseas shipping is worth it.” Way to go buddy! Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our totally sick of packing and moving Caption Contest!

Power Tool Drag Racing is Huge in England
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
We see power tools and think home improvements. A bunch of wacky gearheads in England see power tools and think drag racing. We love stuff like this and these guys and girls have taken it to the next level. We’ve heard of people drag racing belt sanders, but these people build junk you can ride!
According to a story on the UK’s ThisIsTheWestCountry site, chainsaws and leaf blowers commonly provide the power to the vehicles that racers ride. From the lead photo it appears that running multiple motors is not only legal, but encouraged. Our type of deal!
The most amazing part of the whole competition is the fact that it it truly international. People from America showed up to compete. We think this should go onto our gearhead bucket list. It’s ingenuity at its finest!

As for Jetto’s Truck…
By Dan Strohl
Hemmings
So while researching the Highwayman TV series, I kept coming across references to the high-tech, futuristic truck of another character, Jetto: low-slung, with the cab all the way forward of the front wheels and a flat top. The references called it a Steinwinter. Continue reading at Hemmings

What's Next: CJ3B EV from ICON
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Jonathan Ward is at it again. His previous vehicles were based on the original Toyota Land Cruiser, but his new design is inspired by the old Willys flat-fendered CJ3B. This new project, nicknamed “The Dog,” will be a lot more affordable than previous ICONs, with kits priced from $15,000 to 35,000 and turn-key production vehicles starting around $45,000.
But wait, there’s more. Jonathan is also developing a pure EV variant with four in-wheel hub motors and a driver-controlled variable crawl ratio for off road versatility. How cool is that? Check out the ICON CJ3B ride page for more details and pics! And we’ll be sure to show you a lot more when The Dog debuts at SEMA.

Coming to the USA
By Chris Trout

The American auto manufacturing companies have continued to stand under the scrutinizing spotlight of media attention since the government issued the bailout “loans.” Government Motors is scrambling to shave some weight from their oppressive cost structure and prove their sustainability. All the while, the media all but deifies Ford for their pass on free taxpayer money. Despite all this attention on Ford and GM, Chrysler just drifts in and out of the headlines. As many of you are aware, Fiat bargained for a portion of Chrysler, rescuing them from bankruptcy and hopefully breathing some new life into both companies.
With all this impending change, I thought it appropriate to expose some of the background on this Italian auto manufacturer and venture to guess what we might expect to see coming from both Chrysler and the family of Fiat brands.
