New Chevy Caprice Cop Car!

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Ok, so first the good news: it looks like we will be getting a Holden Zeta platform-based Chevy after all. The new Caprice will come with a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 which puts out 355 HP and 384 lb-ft of torque. Now the bad news: it will only be available as a cop car. Via Jalopnik

Im a Big time Chevy guy…But I can’t understand the designers at GM. The motor and output of the Holden is nice…but the body is an abomination of Malibu and the Impala…Ugly!

its actually a car down here in Australia, the Caprice is one of the top end Holden Luxury models … it looks really weird as a cop car, but if you look them up on http://www.carsales.com.au (Holden or HSV > Caprice) i think you will be impressed by how grand they are, theyre big and long and they look classy as!

GMH landed a deal with the US government :D woop woop!
My $0.02 :)

It just looks like an updated version of the Impala. If Chevy is trying to succeed by making desirable cars, they failed, imo.

What a waist of gas for displacement! A new 370z has 370hp with a V6 engine. Stupid police. Driving that thing around all day long. Typical…

My city’s Police Department, has just started switching over to the Impalas. It would probably be two decades before they use this. The police departments are dropping the chargers for some reason. They are selling and auctioning them away with around 25k miles on them. They might be breaking down a lot.

Well, ITs easy to see. Just look at the side and the headlights. ITs a rebaged pontiac G8. After its was unsuccesful as a family car. Now it can be a Domestic violence drug dealer dui traffic citation car.

caps off please, thanks.

anyway…will it REALLY be implemented? weren’t all cop cars supposed to be chargers, yet only a handful are? (at least in Cali.)

it seems everytime theyre supposed to implement a NEW cop car, it never happens to the scale we all expect.

THE HOLDEN WAS COMING TO ARABIAN GULF AS CAPRICE AND LUMINA SINCE 2000
SO WE HAVE THIS CAR FROM 2008 I THINK IN (LS,LTZ,SS AND ROYAL)
AND ITS NOT GOOD AT ALL SOOOOO HEAVY

Now that I look at it more it looks like a bad mix of an Aveo, Malibu, and an Impala.

Booo!!!! Long live the CVPI, the only car that could replcae the CVPI would be the new Taurus.

That thing is ugly… If I saw one of those in my rear view I’d run hard as hell so I wouldn’t be caught dead with that thing sitting behind me. Yuck!
