Oh yea And I see the point on Boths sides ILLDUDE. But to each his or her own. If people want to raise their rebel flag then so be it. LOL doent effect me. Im from Chicago. You wont see that around here. besides..I’m too educated and make too much money to even lose any sleep over anything like this…The Paint scheme just sucks…IMO…

This cars paint sucks. And not just because it’s a bogus rendition of the general lee, or the fact that it’s on one of my favorite rides. Or for the fact that I hate anything associated with the confederate flag. It’s purely because this just plain ole sucks. IMO…oh yea..and I’m black. Not racist and my Girl is mixed with black and fillipino. Everything isnt about race…this paint scheme just sucks. Like bad…Atleast you got the point during the Dukes.

Ok ok ok… every once in a while I’ll jump in. JJ here, Organizer of the Fireball Run. I must admit I really enjoyed this entry. The whole point of Fireball Run is to have fun and be a character (but not an arrogant ass)- to say the least every year “this particular” Bentley team definately is fun and total characters, but above all they are really good people- not arrogant jack asses. He is a Dukes fan and the event theme in 2008 was 80′s. If you ask me a 300k Bentley made to look like a 40K Lee is pretty damn funny and definately stole media (after all it landed up front page here almost 2 years later). I want competitors in Fireball to be independant, different, and have an f’ing blast- not posturing dick heads. 2010 is themed “American Heroes”, and I think he’s going with a Super Man wrap. So you know Team Bentley is no poofies- he raced the shit out of that car and beat a Z06 on the race track… want proof? check out the video of him taking down the Corvette http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSphiFkhLGw The guys are fun and no one liked to be judged, just have fun with it. We have enough problems in this country… the least we can do is celebrate independance and root for those willing do be different… Id rather be different and mocked than play it safe and never get noticed. Let’s not forget Brock was mocked for bringing a stupid Ambulance in the 78′ Cannonball… and look where that all landed up. Cheers folks… if you are so inclined hit us up on Facebook and Twitter. PS for the record… I like all cars- but I’m a Mopar guy in the end… so ok… the rest of you can hate on me for that one

I love the General and the series, and the movies….but seriously….deface the Bently with that garbage? Sorry TeamHighNoon. I know it wasn’t your guys idea. Why not black with a red light scanner? Or a Dodge Charger with the Dukes Livery? Brown Bently with the Stuntmans Association Logo on the hood? Sorry….this is just wrong…

I was the one who wrapped this car. It’s not a paint job, but a vinyl wrap using 3M Controltac. I wrapped it for the 2008 Fireball Run. It’s got the General Lee theme because it was an 80′s themed event. The wrap came off shortly after the rally and the car was white. Well, I see here there is quite a reaction. At least people are thinking. Personally I am not to fond of Rebel paraphinallia but,I just ignore it because the people who wear it have no idea what it means.No you can’t judge people on the past. But, I say again,Nobody wants to respond the statement I made.If it were a swaztika would you say anything about it.That is the question.The truth is yes.The rebel flag means:White people hate black people.Just like the swaztika means Europeans hate Jewish people.And I agree that the show itself was a good show.It didn’t have any direct racisim in at all.Its just very sad that people can slap African Americans in the face and think nothing is wrong.Thousands of black people were killed,lynched,raped,beaten and threatened because of that harmless little flag.The hate of the south still continues to this day.I deny the accusation of ignorance.. Because I know the truth, its the people that say it never happend, are the ones who are ignorant…..

That is IGNORANCE ILLUDE-U you judge people on the ways of the past. That would be like going up to a Japanese person and telling them off for the Pearl Harbor attack. I believe that the people of today are not the people of the past because of lessons learned. I know a few people who are into the Confederacy and they do not believe in slavery and savagery, so pull your blinders off and don’t judge people on what they like. By the way if you ever watched the Dukes of Hazzard there wasn’t much if any racist things involved. It was about a pair of brothers doing stupid things on the back roads of TN.
The car I have to agree is a travesty, its not even a good looking rip off. And the fact that there is advertisment on it makes it worse. Nice try to whoever did this but it = FAIL.

I was just saying that the General Lee car on dukes of hazard was named after General Lee the Rebel Genereal. We are no longer a divided country we are the United States. And anybody who champions the separtion of the United Sates is a terrorist.So I feel like its offensive and even terroristic to entertain such ignorance. No car painted with this silly scheme could ever look good. And I hope the site moderators recognize the offensive nature of this.Its time we as Americans, stop accepting offensive media.

Well, I was merely making an observation.I already have a bachelors of science so, I know the value of higher education.I really feel like its culturally offesive to African Americans and other miniorties.See the only people who want people to forget about the past are those who benefitted from it.I don’t feel like we should fool ourselfs and deny all the bad stuff the south represents either.YOu cannot sepearte the cross from christianity. You cannot separate The blue oval from a Ford. So… you cannot separate the rebel flag from the battle to maintain slavery and keep black people enslaved! Sorry man,, but this is actually beyond me and you.. it history. and You cannot white wash or rewrite it. The south still lost and the war was still about slavery.I cant go buy a gold chain that is made into a swaztika and expect jewish people not to be offended. So unless you were a victim of the what the rebel flag represents you cannot change its interperetation. Anything is self deception. Kinda Mark Sanford can parade around the south knowing that he misused funds and misused his office.

The general lee has just become an icon of popular culture. It’s like the Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino or the Charger form the Fast and the Furious. Just because some things are perceived as being racist doesn’t mean that they always are. Plus the flag to most in the south just represents heritage, nothing more. It was just a battle flag from our past, which was long enough ago for some people to get over! If you were born in the south its your heritage, hate it or love it. And usually the stupid people who seek out things to call racist are the most racist of all. And i don’t care if you call me a dumb ass cuz i’m sittin at my university right now.
