Porsche Joy Ride #Fail!
By 993C4S
Porsche Purist
I offer a simple piece of advice for all aspiring drivers out there; If you’re going to steal your dad’s Porsche, be sure you know how to drive it! As a side note, it would be great if the reporter could pronounce Porsche correctly and tell the difference between a 911 and a Boxster, but maybe that’s just me…

By the way, it’s not a porch, it’s a Ferrari.

Typical Porsche quality, hardly a scratch on it compared with the ordeal it just went through. Since those kids are just fine, I wouldn’t waste time in taking them into a closet and beating them until they actually needed the hospital.

Junior got some serious ‘splaining to do. I’ve been in one of these before on a fairly long ride. Didn’t seem like a particularly strong car, was good on the road though… but the ride was unforgiving in NYC. Got a headache in it after a while.

It’s obvious the car shoved down the fence pole and rode over the fence fabric. Probably made contact with the steep slope on the way down which helped keep it upright. I seriously doubt it just fell the 70 feet and landed at the bottom on all four – and ended up looking that good.
-
Still, I’m pretty convinced it’s hosed. There gotta be some totalarian kinda damage and it won’t be roadworthy anymore.

08Sti, having just logged 1200+ miles in a 2009 Boxster S on the PCH, plus a day at the track in the same car, I can tell you it is very, very much a sports car.

I’m glad they are alive and so on, but the reporter who also could of got this part wrong said, most likely no charges would be filed. I had a friend who did almost the same thing minus the big plunge, however he did damage a fence as well, he was charged with damage to property and for driving under age. I guess having a rich daddy does make a difference.

I think the most important question is, why is he calling a Boxster a sports car?

As said below me, if it did roll why isn’t the A-pillar and windshield smashed? If the car was really “911 Porsche convertible” those kids would have a lot more “explaining” to do. This new report is just full of fail though, either the reporter doesn’t know how to quote people, or the owners doens’t know that a dealer just sold him a boxer instead of a 911, and if the car “flew” off the cliff, not even German engineering could keep it looking like it just backed into a parking meter.

@NWSilverado, where are you getting rolled from?
The way I understand it, the kid lost control and the car went off the cliff (not the access road). It appears as if the car landed on all fours. However, she does say they “crashed through a fence and flew over the ledge”. I don’t hear her say it rolled anywhere in the report. Still, it does seem suspect that there is so little damage.

Ok I want the facts. First of all, if it rolled, why didn’t the air bags go off? Second How come there isn’t more impact damage! It “PLUNGED” down the cliffside more like it went down the access road and came to a bumpy stop at the bottom….
