same as many others: when I upload new pics (after deleting the old ones) it just won’t work – there are old pics all over the place, but not the ones I uploaded.

you guys get this fixed, plz!

wow….I haven’t been to cardomain for a while but the upgrade made this site shit.
previously you could add mods via open text fields. now all you get are retarded drop downs for certain categories. so things are missing that you want to specify (like pistons, rods, alternator, battery), and the available options that you can specify only have more known brands, so if it doesn’t have your brand you can’t specify anything. furthermore, all you can choose is the brand, no model number specification or etc. lame…good site ruined, at least in this aspect.

Videos will not display from youtube.

Have to log out, then log in to post sometimes, or it will take you to the “my” page

Advice: I would recommend making it so the ratings & comments link, at the bottom of the page are a separate re-loadable page. This will save you a ton of bandwidth. I know I look there often. Reloading the entire page to look at this is a waste.

Ratings still seem buggy. Page still skips to the top after selecting a star.

Also. Don’t allow anyone to rate rides or comment, if they don’t have a verified ride page. Not a image of a Lamborghini from google images! lol

I can’t un-hide my ride….i click on “Show this ride” then when i go search for my ride it doesn’t show in the listings….go back to see my rides and they’re both hidden again….Why?

Here’s something that bugs me:
I have 9 pages, and close to 2000 images.
When I save a page, or load another page to edit, it has to load all 2000 pics all over again, which takes forever as you can imagine.
If there was a way to only refresh the actual page editing area when saved or loaded, that would be great.

I think that it is a GOOD thing that the page backgrounds don’t work anymore. Too many people have no taste when it comes to designing their page, so they have a tacky background that repeats in strange places and then you can’t even READ the text.

Dunno how picky you want to get, but: The count of pics posted has not changed on my page since the software upgrade. Still shows 2716 photos,
and I have made MANY changes, so I know that count is waaaaay off. Also, are you going to remove the text in the box on our edit page that reads: “We are aware that some pages do not look correct. We are working on the issue and there is no need to edit your ride.” From what you have told us, you have restored our pages to the best of your ability, and we SHOULD UPDATE OUR RIDE, correct? Also, I can add a page, but not delete one. No biggie, but mentionable. Finally, still missing all comments from the first two weeks of October. Are these going to be restored? What about background images. Also, once and for all, would you guys PLEASE TELL US about the next upgrade BEFORE you do it? Seems that a lot of us would appreciate you being proactive with this. It would surprise us a lot less, and you’d probably have a lot less frantic emails. Thanks for everything guys! I don’t want this to sound like a rant. Just trying to survive the upgrade. Again.

I have an idea for ya. I know bandwidth issues have to do with this site messing up sometime, why don’t you do yourselves a favor and delete some of the rides that have not been updated in forever. Like 5 years or more. I was looking around today and saw a couple that had not been updated since 2001! They obviously don’t care about their ride page anymore.

And I miss the custom modifications, because you don’t have enough stuff listed, like custom grille, pillars, door handles, lenses, etc. But you seem to include all the BS for ricers, fartcan muffler brand, body kits, carbon fiber, JDM, blah, blah…

When looking at any profile page where it shows when a ride was bought, it has the month, then 02, then the year. No matter what the month for anyone it has 02 after it and there is no where to choose the exact day of purchase. Just thought I’d let you know of this issue I noticed today.

Everything I had on my SC2 page is back, nothing but the background on my Beetle’s page disappeared and you’ve already explained that. A couple of cars I deleted are back, but I just deleted one and kept the other because I was regretting deleting it anyway. Thanks for everything, guys! The site is much quicker.

I am not sure if this is a problem with anyone else(maybe it’s my computer), but everytime I click on the “Ford” link under “Top Makes on CarDomain” I get a page that says “timeout expired” with this message:”Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. As I said earlier, the ride page backgrounds will not be the same as before. To set a custom background you will just give us a url of the image.

As for ratings, the new rating system is more accurate and fair as opposed to the old system.

Guys I’m sorry that some of your pages continue to have problems. At this point we’ve restored everything on the ride pages that we can restore. If you have missing data from your ride page, please go ahead and fix your ride page, re-upload the images, etc.

Personally, I think you guys are doing an excellent job. It can’t be easy to manage all that goes on in this site and I can imagine the amount of resourcess (both computer and electrical) that Cardomain must take up. Yes, some of it is trial and error, but we -HAVE- to keep humans in the equation somewhere!!

My pages and editor were so screwed I was sure I had been Hacked.
I reported and alot of, but not all, things were rectified. The up-loaded pictures still don’t match the ones on my pages.

Though i did Virus ScansI was advised by IT friends to change ALL Passwords and Re-install my system

It would have been nice to be advised of the “System Up-grade” BEFORE, rather than Four Days AFTER.

Finally can comment as well. Well i am missing my last 2 recent updated pages (7 & 8)…and my ratings have dropped too. Hope all this is fixed soon.

RE:85camarolover I think you are referring to the custom mods which we have taken out. These will not be coming back but should be replaced with a new and better feature in 2010.

RE Chris: We’re working to restore your comments. The job is set and is running but its going to take at least 3 days to run. CarDomain is big and has lots of data so some jobs can take up to a week to run through every member, etc.

Hey guys,

Everything is getting back to normal on my page.
I still have a few things that weren’t covered on the above listings

- My page 15 was completely wiped. Should I go ahead and redo it or
continue to hold off on that ?
- The music player I had on page 12 is still gone. Should I redo that
as well ?

As for the PM issues I need them all cleared out. They’re either back after I deleted them or I’ve answered and no longer need them.
Can you guys update this or should I go ahead and delete them all myself ?

Lastly I’m still missing some comments. Can they be restored on my particular page ?

Thanks again for all your hard work. It’s appreciated.

i had pages and data missing from both my rides and i was figuring out how much i spent on my jeep and it only has like 6 things on the page now and before that it had at least 30 things on it, but no hard feelings, ill have plenty of freetime during the long winter in wisconsin

Well I can finally post a blog comment now, I am still missing some commentsfrom my page(but you guys said your restoring them), and you can still rate your own ride.

Yes the custom modifications have been dropped as we will no longer have these. Instead we’ll be introducing a function where you can input modification data that can later be searched against but again this is a whole new system for us and we don’t eta on this project yet.

As for ratings we’ll have a follow up post but the gist of the story is that our old rating system was weighted incorrectly and in the new system we’ve fixed the system to more accurately rate and to not round up like our old system.
