Corvette Racing and Flying Lizard Play Rough at Laguna Seca
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
In ALMS, we’re generally for Corvette Racing. But at Laguna Seca, driver Jan Magnussen was bumping like it was NASCAR, and on the last lap, Flying Lizard driver Joerg Bermeister gave him a taste of his own medicine. This battle was the highlight of the entire race, and you can watch the last few laps in this longer clip, but if you just want to see the final confrontation, check out the video below. As you can imagine, the officials weren’t happy…

Ok so he got bumped hella hard, but then recovered very well(that’s racing)but why not just race the guy? How much more lane clearance do you need.

that was a good race and yea that vette got what he deserved..lol was funny watching him try to pass him by going through pit lane.. he couldn’t have thought the judges would let him do that… his crew chef was like go go do it.. it’s good..lmao…

The guy in the Corvette could have easily have backed off but, he got what he deserved. You don’t bump somebody and hope that they’ll just step aside for you. Check out the 10 min last 5 laps. He was all over the road including an illegal Pit lane pass.
I’m glad the guy in the Corvette got a 2 race probation but, I don’t the Porsche guy should have as well. Yeah ok maybe driving him to the wall wasn’t the best thing but, the Corvette had every moment to back off and we’ve seen that sort of thing in all sorts of other racing to the finish line…. What’s done is done… Let’s see what happens in GT2 in 2010.
